Yay Patzi! I have to tell you, one of my first thoughts this morning was I wonder how Patzi did. I hope she posts today! But I was not worried- you have been at this so long, I knew you would be fine. A half pound is nothing. Now next time you have such a big challenge you will know you can do it and not stress so much!

mkroyer - Super cool about meeting the President.

Patzi - way to go! Good choices pay off. You are an inspiration to me. Thank you for all the advice and tips that you have given.

MAYBE...your body is where is wants to be?? I have heard that everyone's has a "sweet spot," and maybe the weight you are right now is yours. Who knows..just a thought:) I would be happy if my weight is where you are stuck right now!!

I was able to get off HBP meds also and so delighted to hear you say you are off all meds. Happy for you.

Way to go, Shoppermom! Happy for you!

Good to hear how everyone's doing. I started stabilization yesterday and gained 1/2 pound. But I'm okay with it. I'm the type that stresses over any change... I understand it needs to happen, but change makes me stress and have trouble sleeping, which causes me to gain, which makes me stress and have trouble sleeping, and the cycle goes! Doing okay with the plan, just need to learn to let go and trust the process and my body to "know what to do".

Feeling good, though - took the girls to the lake yesterday and it was the first time in a long time that I didn't have to worry about wearing a swimsuit coverup... that was nice. Really enjoying the newfound energy with the weight loss, you know?

struggling with day 4 of Meta-Slim

Hi Everyone,

I joined Metabolic about 9 days ago. I didn't realize it would be so expensive and now I feel like I made a poor choice. I am on day 4 of Meta-Slim and I am really struggling. I am having a hard time following the program. Can anyone offer any pointers on how to stick with it? I only have about 15 more pounds to lose because I lost about 15 before I joined Metabolic. Any words of encouragement are greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

Newbie!

Hey all! I just signed up for MRC on Monday and I am soooo excited! I have read a bunch of the posts here and it seems like a supportive and loving environment. I've got a big goal of about 50 pounds to lose. It seems like a lot but I know I can do it. My boss had wonderful success on this and I just decided "ya know what? I just turned 25 and its time to get healthy!"
I can't wait to share in each and every one of your accomplishments!

Get healthyandhappy: At first you don't feel very good. It is your body switching from carbs to fat for fuel. You just have to wait it out and remember you re burning fat. Make sure you are eating everything and taking all the HSN- you really need that protein. I remember thinking I could not stand it another day, And all the sudden I felt better. Right now, just stay busy, and keep as far from temptations as possible. That's truly the best advice I can tell you!

And you have to get in a good mental space. They try to sell you a lot of stuff, which really bugged me. Stick t o your guns and don't let them talk you into more than you can afford. The food plan and the HNSs are what you really need. Good luck. Once you start to see results it will be motivating.

I think it's one of those things you just have to put your mind to it and do it. Just think about how great it will be when you have reached your goal. It seems indimidating to me too but we can do this!

Hey GetHealthy -

Hang in there... I think the first few weeks are a little rough. For me, it was sugar and carb withdrawal. My best advice is to plan, plan, plan... plan your foods, your water, your HNSs and your activity for the day. Take your lunch (if possible) so you know exactly what you're putting into your body. Also, get plenty of rest... I'm the type that gains from lack of sleep and stress. Also make sure you journal everything... alot of sneaky bites can add up!

You can do this! You are not alone in your journey and the people at the center and here can help you! Get in the mindset about this being your time to get healthy... it's a lifestyle change and it's not going to happen overnight - but focus on your goals (and mini goals)... take one day/meal at a time...

Jolly - Welcome! Glad to have you and your energy here! Go, you!

Hope everyone has a great day today! I woke up early this morning (5:30) and decided that instead of going back to sleep, I'd hop on the elliptical and watch the news until it was time to get my babies up... extra 1/2 hour of exercise in... feeling good. Looking forward to some Zumba tonight!

Tough week

I have been letting myself slip this week and it's time to get this under control before I slid even further down this slippery slope. I'm not sure what casued this except for all the additions on the week 5 of stabilization. But anyway I'm back on the green menu for a few days to get this reigned in. The scales haven't shown an increase yet but I just don't feel like I should. I have been eating crap and my body doesn't like that. It's amazing that I can feel that now but before MRC I didn't seem to notice.

Keep up the hard work and losses ladies. You can do this.

camaswa 05-25-2012 11:29 AM

and so can you, Y. if it makes you feel any better, the exact same thing happened t o me - except i DID gain. i freaked out and went off the deep end for several weeks before getting it back together. For me, I realized i really wasnt ready for stabilization. but your posts are different and I dont mean to suggest you arent ready.

To all who struggle at this stage: Perhaps we subconsciously think stabilization means we are done. Perhaps we need to realize that this journey is never done. We will always need to be monitoring and course-correcting. someone gave me an analogy of an airline pilot, which I wont exactly do justice to, but the idea is that flying is not about simply setting the course and automatically getting there. In fact, the term auto-pilot is a misnomer, because in fact the plane is constantly going off course just the teeniest bit, and the auto-function is actually pulling it back on every time. the corrections are so frequent and so miniscule that it is indiscernable. So to the average person having dinner out with Patzi, they cant see the tiny little course corrections she makes. All they see is wow, she is still maintaining that loss. This is the art of maintaining: course-correcting early and frequently rather than waiting till we have outgrown all our clothes and feel like **** again. Ynap, perhaps you should consider that your course-corrections are way more frequent - you are noticing how you feel after just a few days. BEFORE YOU GAIN! i say yay to that.
