melba questions

  • I for the life of me can't remember how many melba rounds or melba sheets we can have. I am on the green menu if that helps at all. I am doing this at home with out going to the center so I really need to know. thanks so much.
  • i think 40 calories worth...but I'm on the beige menu...so I could be wrong
  • Karo is correct. 40 calories worth which is about 4 round melba toasts or 2 of the longer ones.
  • The bread I eat is 45 calories, and the tortilla's I eat are 50. Both have been approved by my center...so I try to stick to that range. I think a serving of the Melba rounds are 4 of them...60 is calories?? I go ahead and eat all 4! I am on the Green menu, also. My rule of thumb has been to stay anywhere between 40-60 calories per serving....
  • Blissfulmommy how is it working for you doing it at home?

I'm with you on this one Tami.

My counselor got me hooked on the Joseph Pita's. They are 60, she told me to tear off a corner.. sometimes I do but some I don't. But I love putting them in a little skillet, spray a little ICBINB then put Cinnamon & Splenda on it.. let it heat up and roll it up. It make a nice cinnamon roll for breakfast or dessert after dinner :-)
  • Where do you find these pitas? That sounds yummy!

  • I get them at Walmart. They are in the bread isle with the flour tortillas. Usually on the bottom shelf. Sometimes next to the Joseph Lavash. Each Walmart is different with placement.

Last night I had a grilled chicken pita wrap. Used lettuce & tomatoes and then just had the rest of the veggies as a salad and since I have to have 6oz of protein, I put about 3 in the pita and ate the rest with the salad. Very filling!

  • life is too short for boring plain melba toast
just sampled the 3 spicy pepper melba toast~! YUM!!!!!!!!!
  • it is going great at home!! I have my sister and BF as my support team (they both are supper health conscience) They are both my rocks and butt-kickers!! I don't purchase the HNS. I make my own to save on cost and also getting a better quality item. I think I do better at home due to the fact there is no stress of reporting in or pressure of purchase. But I think the key is having support.
