Hi Ladies!

Well, I have been good this week...just very busy with a new puppy!! One might think that chasing after him may help on the scales....hmm...maybe? LOL I did go to the gym twice...just cardio, but better than nothing :)

I do my WI today at 2pm. I plan to have just a Nutra Bar for lunch. It is my pre-mentrual week...so some bloating, but hopefully I am drinking enough water to avoid the added water retention.

I am hoping for a 1-2lb loss...I haven't been perfect this week...but mostly I am happy with my food journal.

Have a great day, everyone! Stay focused on the prize!!

Do you all have any tips/ advice/ words of wisdom before I start?

Tips?

Once very simple one from me :) Many of us want a "quick fix." Weightloss is a marathon, not a foot race...don't be in a hurry. Stay focused on your goal, and be patient with yourself. We aren't perfect....but you will find support on this forum :) We all can relate!

Happy Wednesday!!!

Well, I just had the best WI in a long time. I'm down to 154!!!!!!!! I lost two pounds in two days!!!!

I took my counselor's advice to heart and really monitored what went into my mouth since Monday, making sure I was 100% OP. I'm shocked at how the little things were making such a huge difference on the scale. That was a wake up call for me. I just need to buckle down, stay OP, and get some walking in. I'm so happy right now.

I also tried the Turkey Sausage recipe for dinner last night. I didn't have the red peppers, but I made it anyway and was surprised at how good it was. I'm having some for lunch and have enough for breakfast too. :)

camaswa - All those little drops definitely add up. Hang in there and you'll be at your goal before you know it!

Goneforgood1128 -Congratulations on reaching 40 pounds! Keep up the great work.

bigdog - Have you tried the turkey sausage yet? YUM!!!

twobabiesinnc -My advice would be to plan, plan, plan. Plan your drinks, supplements, water, food, everything. This is the single biggest issue with people staying on plan. In addition, visit these boards often for support when you can't get to the center.

Candi -So great to see you pop in. Hopefully things will slow down soon and you can focus on you again. :)

Tami -Good luck on your WI today. Let us know how it goes. :)

Did someone ask me for my cookie recipe? I can't find the message, but I thought it was there. I will give it, but this is definately a cookie only if you are on maintenace. If one is on stabilization, the cookie is not for you. It is a healthy recipe,when one can eat it.

Patzi: That was me who asked for the cookie recipe! I wanted it for when I get to maintenance, which hopefully is only a little over a month away!!!

Congrats, Jen! A two pound loss is excellent.

I haven't gone back in to WI yet this week-- mostly because I didn't want to be up on Monday from my weekend at my parents'. However, I'm already back down where I was before, so I'm hoping Friday will show a pound loss-- at least it would be something!

Food stumbling blocks just seem to be cropping up for me all over the place. My father in law is visiting on Sunday, and I'm cooking. At least I have a measure of control over the food, but he has asked to grill out hamburgers, so that can get a bit tricky. Also, I really don't want it to be obvious that I'm dieting. He's kind of a dirty old man, and I know he'll make some inappropriate comment if he notices. I look significantly smaller since the last time he saw me, though, so I'll probably have to endure that anyhow. Furthermore, I'll be stressed with him around, and that's never a good thing for me since I'm an emotional eater. Maybe I can just wear really baggy clothes, and he won't notice anything! :)

Maybe you could grill yourself and your hubby turkey burgers?? Just indicate that you prefer them?? I don't know. It is tough. Like you, I really have been rather private about this diet, also. I really don't much like attention from it all either.

Maybe have some sugar free candies laying around to pop in your mouth when you feel like emotional eating coming on? Sometimes works for me...takes that craving away:) Let us know how it goes!

Hello ladies!!

Well, it is starting out to be a great day OP!! I have only been awake for 2 hours, though!! LOL

Seriously...I am going back and forth on what my weightloss goal should be. I am not realy concerned with what BMI indicates is "should" be. I want to be comfortable, and I want to be able to maintain it...my understanding is that the lower I go, the tougher it is to stay there.

My first goal was 175 lb. Then I changed it to 165lbs....now I am feeling like maybe 160 lbs? I guess I have finally seen that this weightloss IS possible, so maybe that has motviated me to keep going. I really do think that being in the 160's the rest of my life would be good....and some have like a 5 lb cushion during stabilization/maintanence...so I am thinking that is my current plan. May need more weeks OP, but in the end, I will be happy I had them.

Anyone else change their goal weight...multiple times??? It is hard to know when we should stop!

I'm the same way about being private about the diet... I think that, if too many people know I'm on it, I feel like they're watching everything I eat or if I spent a whole lot of money on something and then it puts more stress on me. In the past, when I've been complimented on my weight loss, it has actually derailed me because I start worrying and then thinking "what's the point?"... I know that's a weird thought pattern, but it has happened. So far this time, though, I seem to enjoy the compliments more, without people knowing I'm on the program.

As for FILs, I agree that maybe cooking a turkey burger or trying a sirloin or something might be more comfortable to you... We had some guests over and my husband grilled out some steak... he just left the seasoning and sauces off mine and replaced my seasoning with Mrs. Dash steak seasoning... it was wonderful. I measured the portion, added my veggies, and was a happy camper.

Hey, everyone! I'm still amazed at how my body is responding to re-evaluating my diet and throwing a little bit of walking in.

Home Scale Weigh In
Monday = 156.8 pounds
Tuesday = 155.6 pounds
Wednesday = 154.2 pounds
Thursday = 153.8 pounds

That's 3 pounds since Monday!!!!! The conversation with my counselor on Monday about my little deviations (that I didn't think were a big deal) appear to have made all the difference in the world. I only wish everyone on this board could have the same experience I did.

To top it off, I'm PMSing and still losing. Crazy!!!

Hi Jen! What were the little "deviations" you were making? I wonder if I am doing them, too?

Tami
