I asked this question in another thread and was directed to this one. The info given makes sense, I guess, but my MRC center allows 1 caffeinated drink per day. I'm going with it. I have 1 cup of coffee every morning.

I dont think you should worry about 1 cup. I have 2 in the morning. Go for it. Just drink your water too! And interesting that your center allows one a day!

I Began drinking 4 cups of Coffee daily last summer, because I don't like the taste it...so it actually stops my cravings for sugar-sweets...
What else can anyone 'reccomend that stops' the sweet cravings', other than 'dill pickles-sour foods'? I did increase my protein grams. TY :happ3: Dee

I definitely drink all my water. :) Yeah, my center said it was a pretty recent change to allow 1 per day. Now, I'm not supposed to have creamer or sugar in it (artificial sweetener okay; they recommend Splenda) but I do have 1.5 tsp of fat free creamer and I don't like Splenda so I use 1 packet of stevia which has a little bit of carbs in it. I tried to cut the creamer altogether but as I stared at my black cup of coffee, I thought to myself that I have cut every other thing I love out of my diet and while I can cut my creamer in half, I can't cut it out. I'd rather cut the coffee out altogether. (I did that with soda...they said I can have caffeine-free, diet and I'd rather not have any at all.) Anyway, I feel like I'm doing well on this plan and my center is okay with it but said that if I come to a point where I'm at a plateau and they can't figure anything else out on my food log, they will tell me to cut the creamer.

i drink a cup of Lite coffee in the am (1/2 the caffeine) Folgers or Maxwell House - i buy it in the small bags. one counselor said the lite was ok but another one said no coffee.. sometimes i'll take the left over coffee and mix w/ my Chocolate or vanilla protein shake. but i can't have more than 2 cups a day, makes me too jittery and want to eat to counteract that. alot of times i'll mix a tsp. of the cappucino or hot chocolate protein mix instead of creamer.. i like my coffee black though but if i'm craving choc., this makes a nice mocha drink.

You just made my day concerning the creamer in the coffee...I have cutout all sodas, but my coffee (and I only have 1 cup in the mornings) was really gonna be a tough one especially black coffee (can't drink it black at all), but i am getting use to the sweetner. I will try the lite creamer and hope it works for me..

I'm the same way. I have gone to decaf and I only need 1/2 - 1 packet of Splenda but I have to have cream. I have cut down to 1 Tbs for a cup. Maybe I could cut it down a bit more but I'd rather do without than drink it black. And as limited as this diet is, I see my coffee as a treat. I'll keep it up unless I plateau and don't see anything else wrong.
