Connie

I'm taking HR6, fish oil, b6 and the HNS drinks - that's it. And yes, I take a ton of meds for my bipolar (BP1). That's why they refused to put me on the "regular menu" plans. I had to have a plan made by a nutritionist and it doesn't change, like I read everyone changing their menu colors - mine stays the same. I've been on it 5 weeks now.

victorialynn2 - thanks for the encouragement. It got so bad today that I had to leave work. Tomorrow I will go see my shrink and take my menus and all that with me. Could be something totally unrelated, but I might as well run this diet pass him while I'm in there.

Everyone - thanks for your support. I'm glad to see I'm not alone. Maybe extreme, but not alone.

Well - it's been a few days since I posted. Last week was a slow loss - only 2.5lbs and I think I'm going to have another slow loss this week.

I'm tired of excuses - so after about an 11 week "break" from exercising.. I'm starting back. I went to PiYo at MRC Monday night and boy, was I feeling it yesterday! We used the resistant bands with some of the moves and I'm just achy all over. I knew it was going to kick my butt, so I up'd my water intake and had 5 HNS. I was kinda feeling like my WI wasn't going to go well yesterday morning just because I was so sore. Only down 1lb. Which puts me 6.5lbs away from the 70lb board. I hope to be signing that board next week!

I'm still feeling the soreness from PiYo but NO EXCUSES! I'm going to the gym today to start back my cardio routine (walking on the treadmill). And then next week, I'm going to start doing weights.

I'm off to another busy day at work! Congrats to all the "Losers"!! Keep up the great work!

brandy8188 & LetHerOut - Congrats on your losses!!!!! You're doing great!

tkdtara84 - Sometimes maintaining is a victory too! I'm sure you'll make it through the next three weeks and be a knockout!

Junie04 - I think it's awesome you recognized your slip ups so quickly. With your renewed determination, you'll smash that goal in no time.

momoffour - I am so excited for you being able to wear that shirt. I have a few shirts in my closet like that. I can't wait to wear them again.

little edie - The yellow menu is just the menu for days 1-4. Just a bit more restrictive and a change up in my foods to help jump start things.

luvs2read79 - You are going through exactly what I'm going through right now. Check out some of my recent posts. Completely on plan and the scales aren't budging. Also, my TOM just ended, as well. What did I get for it? 1/2 pound loss on Monday. Grrrrr.... Whatever you do, just don't go off plan. You will regret that more and won't get you any further in your journey. B6 helps with water retention. My counselors said up to 3 B6 pills a day is good during TOM. I'll weigh in today, so we'll see how it goes. Hang in there.

coarkkayaker - With this board, you are NEVER alone. ;)

Candi - Girl, I just noticed your ticker. You are HALFWAY to you goal!!!! :yay: Now that is a milestone!!!! BTW, I think we were doing the same thing with exercise. The last time I went for my lunch walk was on May 5 (I have an app that tracks it). I started again yesterday. Felt great! Hot as heck, but great!!!

Here's to staying OP today, Ladies!!! :hat:

Junie04 07-20-2011 09:24 AM

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I was just thinking about it, that I've lost over 90 pounds and I am going to let this last 6 pounds get me down! Well I am over it! This morning I finally lost all the water weight I gained this weekend so I hope I will see a loss on the scale on Friday.

Little Edie, lets conquer these last 6 pounds together!!

Thanks Jen! I didn't even notice until after I posted and went to update the ticket. And I'm only 10.5lbs away from MRC's "first" goal and my end date, this time around, is mid-September so I'm HOPING I will fly by that first goal and have a heard start for my second time around.

I felt great after PiYo. But these last 2 days I've just been so achy. Definitely have to start using weights and I'm going to buy some resistance bands and do some of the things I did Monday night.. I can really feel it in my arms and like that back fat area under my arm pits. Hopefully I can burn that stuff off! :)

Oh and no matter how much I lose on Friday - I'm already excited because I get new measurements!

JenB72 07-20-2011 01:55 PM

I'm so happy right now! I didn't expect such good results at my WI. On my scales this morning, I was 165.4. At the center, it was actually 164.5!!!! Must have been all those trips to the bathroom. LOL We also did my measurements. Even though I only lost 5.5 pounds this month, I lost 7.5 inches. To date, I have now lost 48 inches!!! I definitely needed to hear that. Can't wait to see what my numbers will be next month. :)

luvs2read79 07-20-2011 02:31 PM

Candi - congrats on your 2.5 lb weight loss - it's great that you're 3 - 4 months in and still losing at that rate. Good luck with getting back on track in regards to your exercise. As a matter of fact, my daughter is napping with my mom so I think I'll go throw on my shoes and hit out while it looks overcast outside for a short walk.

JenB72 - congrats on kicking that scale in the hiney and showing a loss - AWESOME!:carrot:

tkdtara84 07-20-2011 04:22 PM

JenB-- woohoo! You have less than 15 lbs. to go to your goal. That's amazing. I think your attitude is so awesome. It takes such dedication and perserverance to stay on plan like you are when the scale isn't moving much. Way to go!

JenB72 07-20-2011 04:29 PM

Thanks, Ladies! Actually, the 150 was the MRC goal for me. I'm thinking more like 140 before I start stabilization. One of my mini-goals is 147...my wedding weight. :)

Hey ladies!!! You guys are all doing so freaking amazing. I have been on hiatus lately, clinical rotations are crazy insane. I am on oncology (cancer) right now, and it is so depressing especially this past week when I had to euthanize two patients. So needless to say, I hit the bottle and the dessert...completely off plan, but I have always been an emotional eater. Luckily I only gained half a pound, and in the past couple days of being back on plan I lost 1.5...so now I am on the winning side again. Phew!

Lately I have been getting bored with just the typical HNS powder plus water routine. I was wondering if anyone has a great smoothie/mixed HNS type drink. I did a cider with the lemon and orange HNS, cinnamon stick, two tea bags, and a clove in the crockpot the other day and it was refreshingly different. I welcome any new ideas. You guys rock for support and I really need to get on here more, so I don't feel like I am missing out.

I thought the same thing-- but I'm guessing a vet? Most human patients don't get euthanized.

Anyhow, I have a friend who mixes her HNS (concentrates-- not sure it would work well with powder) with sprite zero. I've done that before. One of hte counselors at my center suggested freezing them and eating them like an ice pop. I haven't tried that yet. I've also mixed them with water and frozen fruit in fruit smoothie for lunch. Those actually turn out pretty well because the blender kind of frappes the protein and it makes it frothy/creamy tasting.

Most people start on a yellow menu for 5 days, then a blue menu for 6 days, then green for the rest of the program. I think the changes in the beginning are just to jump start your weight loss.

I'm glad you are running it by him. Hopefully it's not related, but just withdrawals or something similar.

Savvy, if you have a good blender, crush up some ice with a little water and put some clear HNS on it like a snow cone. Especially if it is hot, this is very refreshing! Or how about trying this from the cookbook:

Frozen Hot Cocoa
12 oz can diet cream soda
1/2 pkg creamy hot cocoa hns
1/2 pkg vanilla cream pudding hns
ice

Blend in a blender until smooth. There are pages of drink recipes in the cookbook. Maybe others will tell you their favorites!

Congrats to everyone who has had progress this week!

This sounds so yummy, I think I will try it tonight - thanks for sharring.

Walked in the parade tonight with 4 consultants from MRC, my 8-year-old daughter and 7-8 other clients and had a ball! It was very hot but the slight breeze made it tolerable and we just had a lot of fun handing out coupons and beads. Before MRC I never would have agreed to walk in a parade with my weight loss pinned to the back of my shirt, and I would have missed a great experience with my daughter! Losing this weight is about so much more than a number on a scale or a smaller clothing size, I am gaining confidence, making new friends and becoming more open and outgoing and it feels great!

They teased me at the center today. We ordered MRC T-shirts for the parade and I requested they order me a 2XL (I wanted to be comfortable and make sure it would fit) - Well, they were sure that would be too big and had me try on a large this morning - not only did the large fit, but it was a bit baggy. They teased me mercilessly about not being able to see the weight loss, but I am still amazed that the large not only fit, but was a little baggy.

Do not let the scale dictate how your day/week/month/life goes. Take control, stay OP and be patient and look for those NSVs (non-scale victories).

Mariah

luvs2read79 07-20-2011 11:05 PM

Mariah - that is so great! Can we say NSV?????? Congrats on your 50 lb loss and on undertaking something you wouldn't have before. One of my main reasons for beginning this weight loss journey and being serious about it is my daughter, while she's young, I want to be around for her lifetime and also be healthier so that we can enjoy life together.

I was having some cravings and temptations earlier...I don't know if it was the Guggle that I took or just having my Hot Cocoa HNS, but I'm much better and definitely more relaxed now...almost bed time and I'll have made it. Yahoo!
