Health/Weight Loss Apps

I was curious which Apps posters are using to help them with their weight loss journey. I always have trouble keeping track of how much water I've drunk during the day. I found this free app called Water Your Body to help me track it. I also love Runkeeper to track my walks.

Are there any others I'm missing that may help?

I use livestrong.com. They have an app for your phone, too, for about $3. It helps me keep track of my water, my food, my exercise, and my progress (weight and inches). I especially like the charts and graphs it will create, showing me if I"ve been eating mostly protein or carbs, etc., as well as the weight loss graph that allows me to overlay my net calories. It really helps me realize what my body needs and how my body reacts to some things.

This isn't an app, but I am using a bodybugg. It has helped me feel a lot better about my slow weight loss. According to my bodybugg, I only burn 1800 calories on days where I don't exercise and 2100 calories on days when I bust my butt in the gym for 1.5 hours. It makes me feel a lot better about "only" losing 2 pounds per week. :D

I use LiveStrong because I was interested to know how many calories I was eating in a day - I did shell out the $45 for the yearly subscription because I felt this year is the year I am really going to lose this weight.

So on the metaslim plus level 2 - I am only consuming about 800-900 calories, and I'm drinking near 100-130 ounces of water.

Sparkpeople.com is what I use, it is free and you can track just about anything. It also has a lot of recipies that are OP or can be easily adjusted to fit the plan and you can enter your own recipies and save them.

I read about another app over the weekend and now I can't quit playing with it. It's called Fooducate. You scan the bar code of the product and it gives you good and bad highlights of the product, suggests better alternatives, and you can even compare two different products.

Ohhh! I will have to try that. I never thought I would be a "label reader".. but I'm picking up EVERYTHING now.. sometimes even things I know I'm not going to buy. Just to check the sodium, carbs and calories. I've heard sodium is taking over our lives and even Dr. Oz had a show about it but I still didn't pay attention. I'm amazed now! I actually have a new thing of salt in my pantry - that's going to the food bank!

I'm not sure how I feel about our HNS counting in our total calorie count.

I use an app called LOSE IT and it gives me a total calorie count and a little graph to chart my weight loss.

I also log my food in there and that makes journaling a little more fun.

WITH the HNS, my calorie counts are between 1000-1200 per day (I'm on the metaslim plus menu that allows 6 oz of protein per meal).

I've used sparkpeople in the past and its wonderful because, just like this site it's FREE!!! It has amazing recipes that keep you right on track. I've recently been using Loseit! because that is also free and you can set goals, count calories and log everything including exercise and water!

I use my fitness pal great free app not only does it count calories, but also sodium, sugar, protein. Has a lot of MRC products in the database.
