Help....need some advice
I have been on the program for 1 month now, I've lost 10lbs only. I know why...I can't seem to stay focused and stay on my menu. Any ideas to help me. I'm always hungry. I want to eat those sweets, worse in the late afternoon and late evening. I excercise but don't follow the plan every day, I know this is the problem for lbs not coming off. Just need some moral support, suggestions to take your "sweet" cravings gone....I don't want to fail but every time I go weigh in I stress myself out. Help!!!
Thanks! |
I know for me usually late night cravings is my bodies way of saying it's tired- if it's late enough I just go to bed.
Also- maybe look into some stuff to keep you occupied and your mind off of food? Good luck- I'm currently also struggling (I do south beach diet though) |
There is so much evidence through books and research that fat/sugar/salt consumption leads to more fat/sugar/salt consumption. There is a great book called The End of Overeating. It basically states that rats will literally cross hot coals to get fat/sugar/salt when they are addicted to it. The only way to do it is to go cold turkey, in my opinion. It would be just too hard to have it sometimes. The first few weeks are brutal and it's so hard to say no. But, once you get all of that crap out of your system, it will get much easier! Now, 7 months later and in maintenance, I can have an occasional treat and it doesn't set off cravings or a binge. But I would have never attempted to walk that line the entire time I was losing. It just wasn't working.
The other thing I try to think about is that I put in too much money and too much work to do it 1/2 way and get 1/2 way results. You really owe it to yourself to give this all of your effort! It will pay off, I PROMISE. Hang in there and just DONT ALLOW yourself that stuff. This is just my opinion and a process that worked for me when literally nothing else would. |
10 pounds in one month is excellent. Congratulationa !

I'd be thrilled with 10 pounds in one month. I'm averaging 1.5 pounds a week so I'm way less than 10 pounds/month. As for sweets, you could save your creamy for the end of the day and do one of the MRC puddings or hot cocoas in the evening. Or have a diet rite. Hot herbal tea with some noncal sweetener hits the spot too. One thing that seems to be key for me is to really watch the timing of my meals and never go more than 4 hours without eating something so I'll have my extra hns in between those long stretches between lunch and supper and it really does help otherwise by supper time I'm STARVING and don't feel satisfied with my program meal making it much much harder to avoid non program foods. The recipe book also has some dessert type options too.

I like to have the jello or pudding at night. It helps me not to feel too deprived.

When I'm craving sweets, or feel like I'm hungry all the time (usually the week before my period) I take a meal replacement bar, cut it into fours, and use that to snack on throughout the day. I count it as one of my inbetween meal supps
