I buy my fresh buffalo at Whole Foods, which is about the only grocery store I shop at. I avoid buying frozen meat all together. Buffalo tastes a lot better than beef!!!

Pookie31, you should try it! I promise, it will be better than beef and you are allowed to have it every day. Imagine that.

Joy2Menu,

Thanks for the tip. I will look for taco seasoning. May I ask, why is everyone avoiding salt? I know that it makes you retain water, but does it have any real effect on weight loss?

I am convinced that when we are all puffed up from too much sodium in your system, it makes a huge difference.

Once you get the sodium/salt thing under control, your feet don't look so pudgy and your ankles, and your fingers and your toes. Once I began MRC, I noticed this "pudginess decline" within about 2 weeks. That alone made me feel so much better.

Not to mention how much better it is for you IF you have any blood pressure issues!

Oh, super easy - I just cook the ground buffalo, measure out 3oz (my menu amount) with my 1/4c black beans and dump a few tb of my favorite low-carb salsa on top. If I'm feeling crazy, I add a tablespoon of shredded cheddar.

Hatethesweatpants,

Thank you! This can certainly add a little variety to what I am eating.

I picked up some at the store the other day and am planning on grilling it like a burger with seasonings and then eating it as a wrap with the low carb tortilla with some lettuce, tomato, mustard. I was thinking grilled mushrooms would be ok too so long as they don't have much oil. Any other 'burger toppings' that i'm forgetting?

I can't wait!

I went to several grocery stores and finally found one that sold it. However, they said the supplier can't keep up with demand so they have been out for over a month. It was $5.99 a pound for the ground bison. I'll have to give it a try when they get it in stock!

I have noticed that the demand for bison meat is extremely high in my area. They seem to go through a lot of bison in Whole Foods, the store I buy it from. To tell you the truth, even if I was not on this diet, I would still prefer bison before beef. Bison is sooo much more flavorful!

Ladies, would you please post your comments after you try the bison burgers?
