I asked today about doing the Medi Quick. The councelour was all for it until he talked to the manager and when I returned from the restroom they had decided since I have so much trouble with sweets and other things going on, they said it might be a waste of money since I can't seem to get a grip. They thought the hormone test might be better and may find out what is going on with me and actually maybe correct the problem. So reluctantly I went for it. I will do it tomorrow and see what happens. In the mean time I really need to get it together.. I only have two weeks and am not feeling good about making my goal by then. I already told them I will not sign up again so I guess it will just be a whole lot of money down the drain.. And it will be my own fault.. Wish me luck.. Have any of you done the hormone saliva test? I posted a thread for it for some feed back but nothing yet..

Cheers!
Ronnie

Ronnie, I remember last year when my center was promoting this new test that was coming out and it was marketed at the win all test from our center, and they started promoting the progesterone cream that we could purchase and help after the test results ...I felt it was just another marketing profit making route...just my thoughts, I feel the MRC diet plan is exceptional and I have done extremely well on it, but after going through a LOT of money, four-figures, I decided not to buy all the supplements and jump on every NEW product they were marketing and it worked for me. After reading Julian Micheals book on our metabolism I under why some people lost weight quickly on MRC and others go slower...we are all different and respond differently. I do hope your test indicates you are in balance and will not be told to purchase their hormone cream, I know many who use the cream not affiliated with MRC but through their doctor...my opinion is if it is a medical issue I go see my doctor for advice not MRC, as they are a great diet center but not medical facility. Just my 2 cents...Genell

I was informed of this test and declined -- it was quite expensive, but don't remember exactly how much. However, I did purchase by the progesterone cream and 3 weeks later, and I can't know if this is the reason, but I have more zits on my neck than I ever had when I was a teen. Bottom line, I have retired the cream. A waste of money and glad I didn't get the crazy expensive test to make me feel even more guilty for all the $$ spent. --Joy2MeNu

Hey, but we're all different, sooooooooooooooo

Thanks for the input. I am not sure this is such a hot idea.. It is kind of time consuming to have to fill 4 containers with your own saliva.. Let me tell you, it takes time..LOL. And I agree, it probably is a rip off, but it seemed like it might be beneficial at the time.. Live and learn..

Hi Ronnie,

I think we go to the same center and when I hit a plateau not too long ago, they started talking to me about it too. Then i took too long making up my mind and the weight started coming off again and no one has brought it up. Anyhow, I did research the heck out of it and read several websites regarding hormonal balance while losing weight. I decided that if I did do the test, I would take the results to my doctor and talk with them about it.

The progesterone cream from MRC isn't anything new, you see it sold all over, but interpreting the results, I certainly don't trust the center with. There's nothing harmful about having the test done and seeing what it says, but I would recommend you get a second opinion on what action to take based on the results - since that's where the danger can lie.

Everything I read suggested that results rarely come back 'spot on' because there's always something that *can* be tweaked. Good luck and keep us posted, we're all very curious.

You're so close to goal! That must be very exciting, I'm sure you'll get there very soon!

I plan on showing any results to my Dr.. I had some tests done a few months ago and they really showed nothing so I am doubtful this will be any different.. I know that I am not going to spend anymore of my hard earned money on this stuff. I will continue to purchase the HNS, but I think I will mostly buy those from Diet Direct which I just got my protein bars from today, Thanks GWE and others who told me about them.. So now I think I will go fill up my last test tube and shoot this thing off tomorrow. It was kind of time consuming and not very convienient to say the least.. I go to the Beaverton Center. In fact I am going there tomorrow to WI.. Maybe I will see you there sometime..

Cheers!

Please stop beating yourself up. Try positive thinking vs being so hard on yourself. Think of what you have achieved vs what you haven't.
Every night I thank the universe for 5 things that happened during the day. Sometimes I am just thankful that I can see and hear and feel and walk.

ok - so here's the rest of this story. i've been pretty unmotivated since the first part of april and frankly haven't really lost any weight because i am just burnt out. my contract is up may 22 and i've been dreading what would happen then. i decided that i wasn't going to sign up for extra weeks quite a while ago, not because i care about the money so much (although i do care some) but because i know i'm going to start losing ground with the attitude i have now. so i went into the center today with the proposal that i start stabilization even though i'm not at my goal weight. at first they had pretty big reservations about it. they said they wouldn't be doing me any service by letting me start maintenance before i was at a healthy weight / bmi. but i pointed out that they wouldn't be doing me any service by letting me walk away feeling like a failure after i've, truly, be very successful. so they agreed to let me start stabilization at the end of the month. i want to get down to 170 by then - which i am very motivated to do. the counselor made me promise to come in for the whole year of maintenance. also to make sure to drink 4 HNS everyday between now and then. I am super excited. i feel like a weight has been lifted (pun intended). ;)
