What's your average loss?

I've been on program for 26 days and without including preconditioning, i'm only averaging 2.25 lb/week.

I'm curious what other folks are averaging since it's a better indicator than # lbs in their first month which varies by start weight.

I'd love to hear what other people have been averaging and if the 3 lb/week is realistic. Thanks!

3 lb is realistic, that's my average now, on the 19 is going to be my second month. At the beginning I lose more lbs then that per week but that's because I retained a lot of water since my blood pressure was up.

I'm averaging 3 lbs, 4 on a good week.

Secretgrl77 03-11-2010 09:08 AM

I'm averaging 2 to 2.5 lbs. per week.

MEEZOOGIRL 03-11-2010 09:09 AM

I usually average about 2.6 a week.. My body looses big one week and the not so much the next week..

The first time I did program, it was in the 3.5 range at the beginning, but after 55 pound loss in 5 months, my average was right around 2.1 (that's the average over the whole time -- more at the beginning, less at the end.)

As of 3/8 my average is 2.5/week...not quite the 3 I was hoping for, but still more than I could do on my own. Also in the last 2 weeks the radio commercials I've heard for MRC are stating "lose 2-5 lbs per week guaranteed" Guess they have backed off the 3lb guarantee (I know that's what my goal was based on 3 lbs/week)

I'm averaging 2 to 3 lbs per week - but that's not exactly right - I've had a couple weeks where I didn't lose and even one where I gained due to water weight. This week I'm not doing so hot - so far only down .5 and I go in to weigh in tomorrow. :(

The center tells me I used to average 6 lbs a week but now I'm down to 5lbs per week

porchmom84 03-11-2010 08:51 PM

I really ought to find this out for certain from my center...my guess is that my average was 2 # at the MAX....I had plenty of weeks with .5, 1 pound, etc.....went slowly but stay the course and you get there.

very enlightening

this puts lot into perspective since i am just starting out. Maybe calm down my expectation so i am not disappointed when i dont lose alot in one week.

thank you.... i love these boards:hug:

It has taken me 34 days to lose 10 pounds, so that makes the average of just over 2 pounds per week. They told me that since I don't have a lot of weight to lose (20 pounds) that my weekly average would probably be around 2.6, so I'm right about where I should be. I finally got to sign the 10-pound board today...FINALLY!!

I do have to say, that according to my at home scale, I've lost 14 pounds, but I'm not going there...

It's not about how much you lose but about getting to where you want to be in life - weight wise, size wise, health wise . . . Here's my average losses:

Lost 34 pounds in 21 weeks = 1.62 pounds per week
Lost 36.25 inches in 21 weeks = 1.7 inches per week

But the best thing is how I feel and look - see my before and after pictures on my profile. I can now cut my own toenails - I used to think it was because of the arthritis in my hips (have had both replaced now but still wasn't able to reach my toes to trim, put stockings on or tie my shoes). I was investigating stuff to 'cleanse my colon' because I was sure there was 50 pounds of stuff putrefying in there or maybe an alien growing in there! Nope - just fat! and I'm glad to be rid of as much of it as I have - I'm still working on getting rid of more belly fat but I need to strengthen my muscles, build up endurance and stamina too. So, on to this new phase - good eating and more calorie burning through exercising! :workout: :running: :lifter: :strong: :yoga: now I'm tired! jeanette

I weighed in today at 32 lbs and 41.5 inches in 8 weeks not including preconditioning. I guess that is 4 lbs a week. I stay OP 98% of the time. Travel a lot and stick to salads and grilled chicken. No dressing or just balsamic vinegar and splenda. Steamed veges, Josephs flat bread. Eggs in the morning.

PinkTiara22 03-14-2010 02:44 PM

3.7 lbs a week.
