Question for the veterans
Is there an advantage to maxing out my HNS? I did a search I saw it mentioned but not the reason behind maxing out the HNS.
Thanks in advance! |
Yes, there is an advantage to maxing the hns. I am not really very good at explaining, so I am sure someone will be able to improve what I am going to say.
It was explained to me that the HNS is PROTEIN which will NOT turn to fat. By consuming the protein HNS, it goes in and GOBBLES UP the carbs etc. that otherwise would turn to fat. I know, not very technical/medical, but it's the best I got ! |

I just always have maxed, so not sure. I joined in Aug 09 and by Dec, was down 53 lbs, so maybe. I have slowed since, but made way too many exceptions. Gonna have to get serious again. So now, I have 4 hns per day plus 3 full fiber drinks (mix these with my grapefruit hns and love love love it)! |
I have always had 4 HNS a day (on beige I was allowed 5, on green allowed 4) and I'm down about 35 lbs in not quite 10 weeks so I do believe they're helping.
|
I definitely see a change in weight loss when I max out the HNS. I do 5 a day. For me maxing out my water and my HNS is key.

I personally shoot for 100-128 oz of water per day. And my center has said that the only thing counting as water IS WATER. So yet another point of one counselor telling you something different from another (or different from one center to another). I believe that you have been told incorrectly. Try asking another counselor. |
I also have been told that the only thing that counts in your water intake is clear water! I try to shoot for 128 oz a day (8 - 16oz bottles) and have seen a big difference in my weight loss consistency since I upped my goal from 96 oz a day
|
My counselor also told me it has to be CLEAR water. I asked about the 0-calorie vitamin water (so it would have some flavor) and was told that does not count.
Now I just make sure to drink my 128 oz of water while I'm at work. Then when I go home, I can have a "treat" of diet root beer or vitamin water. |
128oz a day is impressive! I guess i'll go up a cup a day and see what I can get in. I feel like im getting up all the time to go to the bathroom at work though and hate that part!
|
I have days where I feel like I'm always in the bathroom too. Believe it or not, you body will actually get used to that much water and you'll have less trips. I was told it takes 4-6 weeks to adjust. It's taken me closer to 6-8, but it does make all the difference at weigh-in!
