How fast are you losing weight?

I am just wondering how fast people are losing their weight. It seems the last 4 weeks for me have been soooo slow! I have only lost 1.5 lbs each week! I am not doing anything differently than before and have tried several "tactics" suggested by my counselors to speed things up. On one hand, I am happy that I am losing and not completely plateau'd, but on the other hand I am frustrated! I see other people walking out of the center all the time losing 3-5 lbs per week. I just don't want to get to the point where I am ready to throw in the towel. So tell me about your experiences. Anyone else a slow loser?:dizzy:

Don't worry. My body has done this before (on previous weight loss journys). Sometimes your body just needs to adjust to the new intake of calories. Soon you will see amazing results!

I am. I've only lost 3.5 pounds in a little over 2 weeks, but I was measured yesterday and I'm down 16.5 inches. My counsellor thinks I'm going to be a "chunky loser" - I'll go real slow, then all of a sudden drop 5 pounds.

I was sitting next to a lady yesterday who lost 10 pounds her first week!

I've increased my clear water intake, as much as I detest clear water - boring! to over 96 ounces a day. As long as my clothes are getting more loose, and I'm staying in ketosis, I'm okay with it.

I average just over 2 lbs a week. It may depend on your menu as well - as I believe some of the menus out there have other options than the meta slim or meta slim plus. Don't be discouraged either. From my history of dieting losing steady and slow is really a good way for your body to adjust and help you be successful in the long run. I'm hoping that better prepares me for life after MRC.

I'm averaging at 2lbs a week. Some times I lose 3lbs. At first I was bothered because I wasn't dropping weight like bricks, but now I'm actually okay with losing at a slower rate (believing it will be better in the long run). It has taught me discipline.

I'm really new to this whole thing, but I wanted to add that I'm not sure how much weight you have to lose but for me having SO much weight I tend to be able to drop higher numbers for a while... Hang in there… your heading the right direction!

Nicatnight, I too am a slow looser and it has been very frustrating.
I have done the extra tactics as well but on the up side I am still loosing.
Mine is about 1-2 a week. Inches have been good though.
Everyone has noticed and I have even gotten a couple of stupid comments like have you gotten taller.LOL. We just have to hang in there especially if we're losing. I am bored so that is also frustrating. My counsellor went down on my goal, not sure about that?? Just confused about where my healthy weight should actually be? sexyrene

Nicatnight I started in January also and dropped the lbs fast but in the last 2 weeks I have only lost about 1.5 lbs a week. However I have not exercised yet and sometimes I only drink 48oz of water. My center told me to make sure I drink at least 64oz of water a day and to exercise and that will help. Are you exercising? My Aunt lost 100lbs and she walks every time she gets a chance; when she is on the phone or any time she has a free minute. She makes sure that she gets in 10,000 steps a day. This is something I want to strive to do. I know I will feel better. We just have to get ourselves psyched up. Hang in there....we can do this!

I averaged 3 lbs a week until the last 2-3 weeks and have dropped to 1-2 lbs. I also have increased my water intake and started exercising - hope to see back up to at least 3 lbs today at WI. It sure does get frustrating, but I keep telling myself, this is more weight than I would have dropped on my own (I have proven that over the years of just packing it on! LOL)

I agree that slower it better, that way MAYBE we won't put it back on. I have only lost 10 pounds and I started in October.

How quickly you lose depends entirely on how much you have to lose. I started well over 300lbs and I lose an avg of 3.5lbs a week...The last two weeks I've lost 4lbs and 2lbs. I'm hoping for 3 this week so I can hit 40lbs.

If you've got more to lose, your body will shed it quicker. If you're lighter, it'll come off a little slower. I also notice when I eat anything off plan.

Every body is different. So every body will lose differently.

I was definitely a slow loser. I can't tell you my average for certain but think it was around 1-2 pounds/week. Now that I'm in stabilization it's been about .5 pounds week. And I had a couple of plateaus in there.... I encourage you to persevere....it works over time.

SalaamDementia 02-09-2010 10:03 AM

My first few weeks I was dropping 4-6 lbs a week. Pure insanity, lol. But its slowing down now to about 3 lbs a week. Like someone else mentioned, I think it depends how much weight you've got to lose.

Though I have been losing quicker than my mother, who's got about the same amount as me to lose - and I drink about 2 times more water than her and exersice - which she doesn't. So thats proven to make a difference as well.

I feel your pain Nicatnight...and I am also going to the center in Bellevue, NE. I am on the Beige plan and I stick to it! But I am only losing 1-2 lbs a week. But I am only on day 11 so maybe this is right. The girls at the center say things are going great for me but I want to see the 3-5 lbs a week. I take in about 100-120oz of water a day and workout 30min-1hour at least 4-5 times a week. I am also drinking 5 of the supplements per day. Am I missing something?

katwmn1 02-09-2010 10:04 PM

Morgan...I think you are only supposed to have a max of 4 of the HNS a day, and 3 fibers. I was taking in too many and they told me that could slow down the loss, or even make me gain...
