I just moved to the green menu and that is true; however on the beige (over 200 lb) menu you are allowed 5 HNS a day. I sure do miss my extra drink a day :(

I think it definitely has to do with how much you have to lose. I'm definitely in the 'bigger' category and lose about 4-6 a week. I lost 11 my first week but also hit a plateau around 20 lbs. I haven't lost much inch-wise. It's weird how the body responds to weight loss. Think like Nemo and "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming..." :)

Have you girls figured out an tricks that really make a difference in your weekly weight loss? Like having a MRB for breakfast or lunch instead of eating a meal?

As long as Morgan is still on the BEIGE plan, 5 hns per day is highly recommended by my center (Lafayette, Indiana). Once you hit the GREEN plan, it backs off to no more than 4 per day. And yes, 3 fibers a day is okay if needed.

Im fairly new...are the HNS just to make u feel full? I am on the beige menu..and it says i can have up to 5 but i have trouble drinking my 3. Well I get them down but I cant imagine wanting more. Why do people drink more of them? Im hardly ever hungry so I thought maybe it was to make you feel full.

I began in August 09 and in addition to the HNS, I purchased Corti-Trim and MRC6 and saw a nice loss through December, approx 55 lbs and 74 inches. In addition to those supplements (and not purchased from MRC), I take 10 high quality fish oils per day (Life Extension), whole food multivitamin, Natren's Healthy Trinity pro-biotic (I believe this helps facilitate weight loss in and of itself), and Natural Calm magnesium supplement (hot magnesium drink rapidly absorbed into the body and provides a calming affect and also helps with relief of pain in the body (would surely consider this for fibromyalgia). Also helps keeping you regular as well. Once the MRC6 & Corti-Trim ran out in December, I have gone on without them. Weight loss has slowed, but then again, haven't kept my nose to the grindstone as well over the last couple of months, but still lost some. I also walk 4-5 times a week for 45 min to 1 hour, and have begun using my Bosu ball for toning the mid core. I see a huge difference. My weight is still high at about 183, but people don't believe it when I tell them that I still weigh this much. I am wearing size 14 jeans (use to be 22-24) and my sweaters are now size large (use to be 3x). I am opting now to continue without any of the other MRC supplements EXCEPT for the hns (now doing 4 per day). After about another month, if loss doesn't pick up again, I will re-purchase the MRC6 and Corti-Trim. Will try to come back and update this, should I do this to help justification of these extra supplements, but right now, I am convinced they may not be needed. I do drink the water, about 8 bottles per day! I believe the water is KEY!

Wow thanks for the great input. I think I will deff look into some things especially the Natural Calm magnesium supplement. I have fibro and some days the pain is so bad i have to give myself a pep talk to make it to work lol. The other times are just fine..but i guess you know how that goes. I haven’t been exercising lately b/c I have been so busy..unless you count doing leg presses with a 25lb baby and arm lifts with him too HAHA…My nephew (he lives with me) is sooo heavy, I’m sure that should count lol I own an elliptical and plan on getting back on it this week!

Thanks All!
I really appreciate all your responses. I have gotten a lot of insight here! I am trying to relax about it and just go with the flow. Thanks for keeping me motivated!

I was told to drink my extra HNS if I will be going more than 5 hrs between meals as this give you the protein needed to keep from going into "starvation" mode and your body starts using lean muscle to keep going. If you keep feeding yourself protein you stay in "fat burn" and keep the lean muscle. Also since I don't get snacks I tell myself this is my treat for the day ;)

the hns really help my sweet craving. its wierd bc when i first started i hated them bc i though they were too sweet and i used to mix them with a full water bottle. they say they are more effective when only mixed with 4-6 oz of water. now thats all i use, i must be used to the sweetness now. also if im craving sweets i drink crystal light.

Bunnynicula 02-11-2010 10:46 AM

I have to agree with you on the chicken bouillion - I swapped mine out for something else they were absolutely awful!

I have to admit my weight loss last week was only .5 pound and I was SOO disappointed. I began the program in early November was doing GREAT until the week of Christmas! I gained everything I'd lost and them some. I've been OP faithfully since December 27th. I started working out January 27th, except this week ..have a sinus infection!! My clothes are fitting better, but I'm needing something else; I guess I'm losing my motivation especially since I'm doing everything correctly!!

When I get a sweet craving I drink 100 calorie Light Muscle Milk, it's equivalent to drinking a HNS and their delicious and filling!!

The chicken boullian is especially necessary for some recipes. For instance, if I make a ground buffalo meatloaf, I put this supplement in it.

However, if you wish to just enjoy it as a hot soup, then perhaps hit it with something extra -- some freshly ground pepper, your favorite Mrs. Dash, a dash of sea salt, a few drops of hot sauce -- whatever you might like. It can really help the flavor immensely.

And my favorite hns drink is when I mix the graperfruit hns with the fiber fulfill drink. Oh my gosh, I love it. As the sour and sweet come together, it just packs a punch I totally enjoy.

As for coffee, I sometimes mix a little of the vanilla pudding to thin consistency and use it for my creamer, plus hit it with just a little vanilla extract and a packet of Truvia (stevia sweetner).

You are so young, and just gorgeous! I can't even imagine the change you will see in yourself as you move ahead with this. But it takes the entire package. I am convinced as you follow the plan, get regular exercise (perhaps at the front end, just 30 minutes 3-4 times a week), and drink water and more water, take the omega 3s (make sure you take enough omega 3s! -- again, I take 10 per day), you will be amazed who emerges. I wish you all the best. You are just about my daughter's age, and I am hoping my progress and my joy I am now experiencing will provide her motivation, and I wish that for you too. You, my dear, are simply a true knockout! And so is my daughter, but she doesn't realize it.

I would also add that I am a type 2 diabetic. However, last month my blood testing showed that my cholesterol is in normal range, my triglicerides are in normal range, my blood sugar A1C down to 6.0, all numbers finally looking good! That is the real story! That is the story that truly matters!
