Getting married but I gained it all back! HELP!

Hi all! In 2008 I lost 60 lbs on MRC. I have since gained it back. I am also getting married on 10/10/10 and I have time left at MRC that they are willing to give me back. I should have every bit of motivation I would need (hello - wedding dress shopping!) but I'm still having a REALLY hard time getting going again. I try and then peter out. Any suggestions? I need to dive in head first if I'm going to lose back what I lost before! HELP!!!

First of all... congrats! Getting married is exciting. The best advise I can suggest is to jump right in, don't delay. Take each day as it comes and start by trying to make it through one day on plan, and then the next, and then the next... and so on. Challenge yourself to make it through without cheating and once you do, the next day do it again but then remind yourself that you did it yeaterday, so you can do it again. When stressful stuff comes up (which it will) take charge over it and tell yourself that you are the one in control, not the situation. You can do this! You have 10 months, you can do this! :D

Thanks everyone :) I am determined this time. I have ALWAYS had a hard time with breakfast...I don't like eggs or cottage cheese. So I am downhill from the beginning. But I will try my cheese toast and see if I can start tomorrow off the right way. Thanks for the encouragement.

If you still have the cook book try the Snickerdoodle cookie recipe. Its great and I just add 1 oz of cheese on the side to complete breakfast.

MSteacher- have you tried the pancakes? You blend the cottage cheese so it's not chunky. I'm not a huge cottage cheese fan and I love the pancakes. I can't remember who's recipe it is but I use 1/3 cup cottage cheese, 1 egg, 2 pks Splenda, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/8 cup oatmeal (uncooked). Blend it all up in the food processor- it makes 2 sometimes 3 pancakes. It does take a minute for them to cook through but they're a nice treat in the morning.

Congrats on getting married. I'm 10-1-10 :)

I might try that. I will ask for a food processor for Christmas :)

I found the first steps to be the hardest....and it took awhile to feel like it wasn't "first steps"....went slowly.....so perhaps just commit to the first step and let the rest happen from there.

MSTeacher how's it going? Have you set a wedding dress shopping date? I think I'm still on track to begin my shopping in the spring- I'm thinking May-ish. I was close to 40 lbs but went a little crazy today with the holiday treats. I'm bummed that I did that but all I can do is learn from it and move on. Lots of water for me this evening. Hope all is going well and you've found some good recipes.

I just wanted to congratulate you on your engagement. My daughter is getting married the same day as you. I just started MRC and am liking it so far. I don't want to be the fat mother of the bride so I am going to give this my all. I wish you the best with your wedding plans. Keep thinking positive and take one day at a time. I know we can both do this and look great walking down the aisle.

HI all! I am hanging in there :) We had to change the date to 10/17. I tried on a few dresses because Alfred Angelo was having a plus size trunk show, and I think it gave me ALL the motivation I need. I do NOT want to buy a size 20 dress. I'm back on the wagon and the wagon has left the McDonalds.

Hi MS Teacher! Oh, I'm on round two also (boo) .... didn't quite gain it all back, but enough to make my clothes not fit and make me feel crummy -- just got sloppy.

I'm so excited for your engagement! Congratulations.

It's very hard to get going again ... I think this time I'm content to go a little more slowly and be a little more gentle with myself. The first time the only leeway I gave myself was my Diet Mt Dew and sugar-free coffee creamer. Otherwise I didn't deviate from plan at all, then when I got within 6 pounds of goal and they lowered my goal 20 more pounds and I had bad lipid blood work (for the first time in my entire life!) I got frustrated. So this time, I'm doing it on my own, using the base program, buying HNS from dietdirect and so far, so good.

We'll be here for you .... it IS hard to get going, but the reward is worth it.
