I am quickly learning that there are people in this world that don't want you to succeed, but they dont matter. You have to do what you need to do for yourself, there is no way to truly succeed in anything you do if you do not love yourself.

PATIENCE....I feel like I am losing SO SLOWLY.....but persevering as I read that it works for the rest of you....that it will work for me....

Faith is taking the next step forward, even though you can't see the staircase.

I have learned not to feel bad about saying no.

I have learned not to feel bad about bringing my own food when i know poor choices are going to be there.

I have learnd that people are sometimes supportive and other times not, but that as long as I remain committed, it doesn't matter what they think or do. No one feeds me except me. I can be in control of what goes in my mouth.

That there is joy in cooking rolls and pies for your family and not eating the dough as you go...that gave me a stomach ache anyway but I always did....It really can be done!

I am learning more about metabolism and how to keep it charged.

I read a book by Ruby Payne about our students that come from "poor" backgrounds. One thing that stuck in my mind was that poor families don't eat a lot of veggies and fruits because they are so much more expensive than protein (ie a pound of apples is over 1.50 a pound and hamburger is 2.50 a pound, which will fill up a family more?)
I was raised probably in the lower part of the middle class, so we weren't poor but we didn't eat a lot of veggies or fruits.
I am learning to like fruits and veggies. That is a good thing.

I have learned to have an HSN with a lot of ice first when I am thinking about eating something OP. Works every time.... love that grape HSN!

Hit 52 lbs off- yay! I am now officially a very picky eater!

I am new to the plan and very excited but also nervous. I am learning that planning is going to be key. I am also learning that Diet Cokes have a very strong hold on me :) I've been told that I can replace with Diet Rite- does anyone know if that will slow down results? You are all very inspiring- thank you :)

Hvnlymzic 11-28-2009 08:40 PM

gottobe - diet rite has never slowed me down, but I also wouldn't allow myself to drink one until I had already had a certain ammount of water...so diet rite is a reward for me for drinking my water. But...if you're trying to cut back on the diet coke (my favorite as well), then drink it and cut back slowly. You'll have to get used to the taste, but there are several flavors if the cola doesn't work for you.

Diet Cokes had a very strong hold on me too! Giving that up was even scarier to me than making food changes. But I DID IT and YOU CAN TOO!!Diet Rite is just fine--still get your carbonation. I particularly like the cherry coke ones. Hang In there and know you CAN do this....if I did, you can too!

I agree, diet coke was one of the hardest things to give up. The sodium is what is bad in diet coke.
There is also a brand of pop called Canfield's. They have chocolate pop. Another nice treat.

I am learning to redefine what "treats" are....and to truly enjoy and appreciate them!

porchmom84 12-18-2009 08:35 PM

Impulse control....hang on for the ride even if it's a hard day WI wise....over time it will all work out.

I'm learning that no matter how good a chocolate truffle looks "nothing tastes as good as thin feels". I had heard that quote before but it didn't sink in until this week.

I'm learning to eat throughout the day - with hectic lifestyles - sometimes I only eat once a day! :hun:
