Just started!

I just started at MRC - was inspired by my boss who has lost over 30 lbs in the last few months. I need to lose 25 lbs - started the plan last Sunday, weighed on Wed. and had lost 2.2 lbs, I weigh again on Monday. I have stuck to the plan, weighing my food, no caffeine (which is hard) and no alchohol. Glad to have found this blog, and look forward to learning more about it from everyone.

Good luck Tina! This program does really work, I speak from personal experience along with all the inspirational stories on this forum.

Tina,
You and I are in the same situation. I also started last Sunday, have 30 pounds to lose, weighed in Tuesday and lost 2 pounds and weighed in Friday and lost 3. I will be out of town next week, eating all meals in restaurants, so I don't know what to expect. I will do my best and will exercise. I'm glad we have this forum for support.
Ali

Welcome to you both! How exciting to start this great journey. Check out the other threads if you haven't already. The Take 36 and receipe threads are especially helpful.

Ali, you had two awesome weigh ins! I haven't had to do a whole week of restaurants, but next week you can give us your tips! Breakfast is probably easiest with eggs, although I really have to limit myself on 1/2 piece of bread! Most places have grilled proteins and salads for dinner and lunch and if you bring your salad dressing you'll do great!

Welcome Tina G! And you are definitely off to a good start. Before long you are going to be someone's inspiration!

3.6 loss at my weigh in today! Thanks for all the encouragement.

Ali - I hope next week goes well for you - at least we'll be on the "green" menu then so there are a lot more options!

Hey ladies! I am also new to the program. I just got my menu last night and started with the yellow menu this morning. I started preconditioning Tuesday and lost 2lbs during that. I'm really excited to weigh in on my 4th day to see how well everything goes! Any suggestions for getting through this first week??

Msim: I did pretty well while I was gone. I knew I would have a refrigerator in my hotel room, so I brought hard boiled eggs, cheese and bread with me for breakfast. I also brought my HSNs. For lunch I usually had a salad with grilled chicken and I estimated the right amount of chicken. Dinner was more difficult but I did my best. I weighed in and lost 1.5 pounds. I was happy. I am down 6.5 pounds in 13 days. Ali

Ali--
That is awesome! I firmly believe you can do this program or take this program anywhere! Your preplanning really paid off at WI!

Hi Everyone!
I just signed up for MRC today and am feeling a myriad of emotions. I suppose I've been overweight for so long and have been dealing with self-esteem issues that I don't really know what to feel! I'm nervous, excited, etc. The women at the center were very supportive and enthusiastic, which will be very important throughout this process. I go to my food class tomorrow night, so I'm looking forward to getting some questions answered. Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself as I begin this journey! :)

Good Luck

I really think you can be successful if you just stick to this all the way through. I started last year and felt so good when I started losing I just got off track and gained it all back. I did not see it through. I ended up gaining more. I am starting this soon and will try to see this through stabilization and forward. By the way I lived in Georgia years ago and have a brother there. I loved it!

Thank you for the support, Gsmom! It is so easy to get off track, as I did with the Atkins diet and ended gaining 30 lbs back and then some. A lady at work had phenomenal success at MRC so I figured what did I have to lose but a whole lot of fat! LOL

BTW, I've lived in GA all of my life and what can I say? There's no place like home. :)

Gsmom 07-01-2009 11:50 PM

I think it is at a point of realizing this is a life change. Like someone else said...eating to live not living to eat. I don't know why I do what I do sometimes. I am miserable with my appearance, so I eat then that makes me more miserable...a vicious cycle. It makes no sense, why do we do what we do to ourselves???I really hope I can stick to it this time. I think this site may be a blessing for me.

I have many memories of GA...what part do you live in? I lived in the Atlanta area, severl parts of town over a 3 year span right before the Olympics. I am old...LOL...just turned 46 Monday.

Goose, congratulations on continuing to work towards your goal. This site has been very helpful to me so far and I hope it works for you as well.
