Sooooo how'd the weigh in go....I can't wait to hear...I'm off program until the end of this week (will be out of town three days...so game plan was to start fresh when I get back)...

Good luck Jeanette....I know you can do it....you're really strong...and you're almost there...lots more vacations in the future off program...so one on program vacation will only make you stronger...

Have a great week ladies...I'll check back when I get back to town...

Hi Shelby - I'm in the same boat - currently at 139 goal is 125 - I've lost 6 lbs and 17 inches so far, I started 4 weeks ago. I agree that it's tough to stick to -but I haven't cheated at all - the food is so limited though - it's rough! I'll weigh in tomorrow. My boss has lost 34 lbs and did it fast, for me it's slow going but like I said, I plan to stick with it!

Default Wanting Buddy/support

Hi,

I just started yesterday. I haven't typically had weight problems but over the past five years put on 15 pounds. I turned 40 in March and recently decided that my birthday gift to myself is to get back in shape. I weight 147 and my goal is to get to 130 or perhaps 125.

I found myself really hungry last night and needed to do something, so I had a 60-calorie hard boiled egg, which helped and then I was able to sleep.

I expect I'm going to be hungry again today, so any suggestions folks have to curb hunger would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Tina, Hi Heather,

Welcome to the group...it's hard but it's oh so worth it...I struggle terribly with cravings...I'm out of town for the warped tour...but when I get back to town I plan on restarting the program...So Friday's my day to get on track and in shape...my dad bought me a new outfit to wear to the concert today but the sizes are not at all what I would have hoped they would have been...

So stay stong...I did best when on the All Day Weight Loss...seemed to kick the cravings....so if you have some of that take it dillegently...if you don't...buy some...it may be worth the extra $$...but a 60 cal egg will not hurt you...the extra high protein food (in my humble opinion) is good for your body...especially if you're doing any exercise...

Good luck ladies...you can do it!!

Default Taylor Body Fat Scale for under $30

Hey Buddies,

Yesterday I bought a new scale at BJ's Warehouse Store. It's a Taylor, model 568BL and was less then $30. It tells percentage body fat, body water, and muscle mass, BMI and BMR as well as weight. I took it to my center and weighted myself on it right after weighing in on their Tanita. It was pretty accurate. Not bad for the price. Internet says WalMart sells thm for about $35.

It has a coupon for 3 books - the Biggest Loser Program, the Cookbook, and the Fitness Program. I might send for them.

I had investigated Tanita Scales but they were over a hundred dollars.

I weigh myself each morning - feel it is good incentive to stay OP for the day.

Oh that sounds like a great deal!! I'd love to have a better scale...especially since I don't have a center to weigh in at Sorry I've been MIA lately...just still off program...BUT...I just got back from camping and I'm going to be home for two weeks so I think I'm going to get back on track a little bit here before I go away again..weight goes on a heck of a lot faster than it comes off...how you ladies been doing?

Keep me up to date...bet you're all doing great on weighins...

Got a great magazine in the mail last week...dietdirect.com...looks like some really great comparable products in there...

I really need the all day weight loss though....

Ok ladies...good luck and keep us updated!!

Shelby - Posters on other threads here have told of buying HNS from dietdirect.com - virtually the same product as MRC's. The BariWise Fruit Drinks have more flavors and are sometimes cheaper than the ProtiDiet Protein Fruit Drink Concentrate - maybe these are the powder and the Bariwise are the liquid - I haven't ordered myself but I might order some for my mother who is in need of extra protein because of her age (87).
The Taylor scale has my stamp of approval - It's readings compare quite well to the Tanita at MRC. Not identical but close enough for home use and it is consistent, morning to morning. I've started doing evenings at home as well and made a chart of these readings starting with the ones MRC has taken.
22 lbs fat lost, water percentage has gone up from 44% to 49% and my fat free mass has stayed consistent. The scale is mostly plastic and I'll have to be careful not to drop or bang it, but for $30, I'm glad to have it at home.

Happy Birthday Heather! I did the same thing for my 62 birthday back in May. I've lost 20 of the 35 lbs I signed up for and am so happy I did this.

TinaG - You are right, those biweekly weigh-ins help keep me motivated. I finally made a chart of the weights since I started - so satisfying to see that progress.

Mkroyer - where are you? That bit of cookie did NOT do you in! I'm starting to get worried about what will happen when I begin introducing "off program" foods back in. On vacation, I got a little 'sugar' in the shrimp cocktail sauce and prepackaged salad dressings - caused cravings I have not experienced since starting this program. Took about 5 days back on program before they completely subsided. Anyway, I hope you are doing well.

Good WIs to all - Hope you are all enjoying summer activities. jeanette

Here i am!!!
That bit of cookie did NOT do ME in!! I am just hanging out, doing pretty doog, *mostly* on plan That darned Penut butter will be the death of me!! Anyway, i made it to stabilization (working on week one). Ive also been UBER busy and distracted by my running and Personal training sessions. Ive had some pretty fantastic races the pat 2 weeks, shattered personal records and just overall doing and feeling great!! The center made me go to stabilization because im only half pound away from "goal" and when they measured my body fat as an athlete (which i should have been measured as all along) they found that i have 16% BF!!!!! WAHOOS!!!! I never in my life imagined i could EVER be such a number! I really thought at 16% BF i would be a lot.....TINIER, ya know? Not 135 pounds, but i do have a ridiculous amount of muscle mass....Anyways, the center said "NO MORE!!"" Stabilizationso far rocks!! CEREAL at LUNCH!! WAHOOS!!! and not a skimpy little pathetic excuse for a serving either!! OR i could have a half a bagel!! so, i will let you all know how that goes, and well see how my body does. Honestly i dont think im going to have any real problem..I was previously cheating a lot with little carbs, like a handful of cereal or a cracker, plus on my long run days i was doubling my carb serving at breakfast. Anyway, hope everyone else is doing great too!!!
ps, if you want to read my long and boring race reports they are located over in the exercise forum under the thread "happy july runners" ..theyll both be within the last 1 or 2 pages

Fantastic mkroyer! Colorado has the least overweight people and sounds like the healthiest too! I think your little cheats have been because your body needs every scrap you are giving it so you can accomplish these fantastic feats!! Wow!

You can do it DIETING AGAIN!!!! get back on that fun fun FUN yellow menu!!!!! you will appreciate what you can eat on the green menu ever so much more!!!!!!!
Reuse-- what you said about my body needing every last scrap of calories i give it is EXACLTY what the center was saying, which is why they let me do things like double up carbs at breakfasts on long runs, and why my little cheats havent stalled me at all....They also are quite sure ill continue to lose through stabilization, because i burn so many calories on a daily basis....so..
KHunter- i AM excited about stabilization!! Life is about the simple pleasures, and for me, cheerios at lunch IS a simple pleasure Basically, any change at all after doing this diet all summer is a simple pleasure...plus i luv cereal and have missed it so...next week i get fruit at breakfatst THANK GOD!!! Breakfast is SO MEGER on this plan, i cant wait, and then in a few more weeks...PEANUT BUTTER!!! ARRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! WAHOOS!!!!!! my old nemesis!!!
Have a great on plan evening everyone!! For me evening is the hardest to keep myself from grazing....

So its friday, which means its weigh in day, first weigh in since i started stabilization...heres whats got me worried....for the first part of stabilization we are supposed to monitor very closely how the added carbs are affecting weight, HOWEVER, i also happend to just get my period this week (8 DAYS EARLY, i dont know....) so when i go in to weigh in, if im carrying any extra weight (ie water weight) we will have no way of knowing if its from my period, or from the extra carbs? I guess i will have to wait and c what the scale says, worse comes to worse, if i do show a gain, maybe we can just repeat week one of stabilizationi till I stabilize!! that way we have a better barometer to measure aginst. Just so weird that my period came SO EARLY, if anything, its usually a couple days late (which of course, is a source of serious stress practically monthly!!
