Congrats to Bonnie......you will be in Wonderland.....how great!!
Everyone seems to be doing great!! Congrats to all of you on you wonderful losses!!
Me...well I went to WI today and lost 1 pound in 10 days. I must admit when I read what everone else is losing I get discouraged.....I just can't figure out why I am losing so slow. (I have NEVER had a week where I have lost more than 2 pounds) I have been on the green menu for months and today they dropped my HNS to 4 thinking that may help ......they had me doing more because of my weight.....I have no problem going to 4 I just can't figure out why I am losing so slow???? I exercise 30+ min a day, walking and weights 3 x's week....... Any suggestions???

You might be losing slower because you aren't getting enough calories and are in starvation mode. Normally you don't get put on the green menu until you are 200 lbs. or below. I was 238.5 when I started and they put me on the beige menu until I was close to 200 lbs. Just an idea....hang in there!

I agree with KeepinOn...I am sure they have you on the wrong menu. You shouldn't be on the green menu yet...its not enough calories. I think they put me on it at 210. Also, with all that exercising you are doing, you should be getting more calories. Today they told me they wanted to monitor my muscle level to make sure I am not losing any because they may want to add half a protein bar a day.

I'm here Was at a youth retreat since last Thursday though. 17 lbs. is so awesome!! Glad to hear you stayed on plan for your trip! I wish I could say the same. I splurged all weekend so I didn't get on the scale this morning. I did have to do a lot of walking though so I'm hoping there wasn't too much damage. I'll let you all know after I get brave enough to step on the scale
|
Thanks, Keepin! good to hear from you, and I would not worry about your WI! Is maintaining hard? Since you are at your goal, I imagine it is a little harder to stay right on, since you are not trying to lose.. (Sigh) I have a long time to worry about that, though.. Hey, how often did you weigh? Since I don't have a center, I do it on my own. I have been only doing it once a week, but I bought a new scale today, and instead of waiting until I get to work (hospital) I will weigh as soon as i get up. Maybe twice a week? Also I am out of MRC-6, and I can really tell a difference re: my hunger level. She is sending them to me, along with a thermogenic. I didn't even know I hadn't been taking one. I thought the MRC-6 WAS the metabolism enhancer.. Did you take all this stuff? Again, Thanks so much!!

Hello, everyone! I've been reading the MRC threads here for a few weeks. I started the program 3 weeks ago. Completed the pre-conditioning week and just beginning my third week. I lost 4 pounds the pre-conditioning week, 3 the first week of the actual program and now this week I have lost nothing. To say the least, I am really discouraged.
I have stuck with the program 95 percent I would say. I had one slip last weekend at a funeral wake when I ate half a cookie. Then, saturday the family went to an ice cream place and I had a small soft-serve cone. The girl at the center who I talked to today, said those small things will cause you to not lose weight on MRC.
One frustrating thing is, for as hungry as I always feel you would have thought I would lose something.
I also exercise a lot and am wondering if perhaps I'm over-exercising for the amount of calories I am eating. I usually workout 45-60 minutes a day...six days a week. I workout with kettlebells and also incorporate a lot of interval cardio workouts. I use a lot of Tony Hortons cardio workouts from P90X or his One on One series.
I admit I am not drinking all the water that is required...mainly because I already have a weak bladder and am in the bathroom a lot as it is. I am going to try and get the water intake up, but it is hard for me.
Supplements I take are the MRC-6, Flax Oil, daily vitamin. I do not take anything else due to the cost and also because I take BP medicine.
I am turning 45 this year and I have to say....it is so much harder to lose weight after the age of 40. It is so frustrating!!!!

I have been going up and down the same half pound for the last 11 days and am really frustrated...I am told by my center that apparently around the 200 mark seems to be hard on some people as their body adjust .? I just hope this half pound gets moving again.

The meal replacement bars count as protein and starch or protein and fruit depending on which meal you're replacing. If you're replacing lunch you can still have your veggies but it's not going to stop your loss if you don't. Make sense? I do the replacement bars about twice a week for breakfast on the weekends when I'm at my BF's house and sometimes for lunch if I've got too many errands to run. On those days I don't get any veggies in and I don't think that's hindered my loss.
I'm the type that wld say something to them. Not anything overly grouchy, just make the point CLEAR that you're doing it for you, not because you care what they think. It makes them jealous that you're able to lose weight and that they're not willing to do it themselves. They'll make up excuses for why they can't or don't want to but in the end you're doing this for YOU not them. If they look at you cross eyed or roll their eyes about it, just tell them straight to their face, I'm doing this for me and rolling your eyes at me isn't going to deter me from what I feel I NEED to do. If they keep up with the attitude tell them you don't care if they want to stay fat, that's their choice. Fortunately I haven't had much opposition in my diet. I wasn't keeping it quiet and I got some speculative looks like, yeah that'll work, but I just ignored them as if they're not important to the major scheme of my life, because they're NOT. One girl was the classic definition of a feeder. She'd bring brownies and cookies in and keep throwing it at me how WONDERFUL they are bla bla, and I got snappy with her, flat telling her I didn't need her crap cuz this is hard enough as it is. She shutup after that and it hasn't affected our working together at all. Sometimes they just need a little snap to realize how they're REALLY coming across.
I eat out most of the time on the weekends when I'm at my BF's house. Think about the choices you're making now attempting to stay on plan compared to what you wld have chosen before. THAT'S the biggest improvement of all, that you're not going whole hog when you have to deviate slightly due to circumstance. I too weigh daily at home except over the weekends and I'm getting where it doesn't bother me quite so much to not know everyday when I'm with him cuz I know I'll know when I get home again.
Good luck!

Ford4life69 - THANK YOU so much for all your encouraging words. They make me feel so much better.
I'm sitting at the airport right now about to catch my flight home after being on a work trip since last Thursday. I finally found a scale in the hotel (surprise...it was in the workout room...I didn't have time to get there until my 3rd day here). I hope the scale is right because if it is...I'm down 16 lbs since I started this thing 2 weeks and 3 days ago!
I go to WI first thing tomorrow morning so I'm super anxious to see if the scale at the hotel was right. If so...I'm OVER HALF WAY FINISHED with my weight loss. I could be finished with this thing in half the time!

Plateaus are going to happen. I was on one for 10 days and it sucked but the most important thing is to stick with the program. I stuck with and didn't cheat and now I'm losing again although not as quickly as the first week but that's probably because the menu i'm on now has more calories in it so I've upped my exercise. With the amount of exercise you do if you're not taking in enough calories your body may go into starvation mode and not lose anything. Are you consuming your max HNS a day? If not that may help. Just stick with and try not to cheat - the littlest things your body can respond negatively to.

Hey all! I've been nonexistent from these boards because I have had a CRAZY month with traveling every weekend, weddings, birthdays, etc. I have had a hard time sticking with my program because of all the craziness, but I'm determined to get back on track. The good news is that I've only gained like 2 pounds and I'm pretty sure most of that is water weight and will come off quick. Also, I'm not able to resign at my center because I've temporarily moved away from any centers... so it looks like I'm on my own so I'll need you all more now than ever!
Questions: Can anyone tell me the food stats for the meal replacement bars? I'm trying to order some online and I want to make sure I get the same thing they would sell at the center. So, if someone could tell me the calories, fat, carbs and protein in the bars that would help a lot!
Thanks!

I got a new digital scale, and I weighed last nite to make sure it jibed with the scale at work. Usually I don't weigh at work until late in the morning after I have drank at least 4 bottles of water, so it has not been exactly right. It was the same as the work scale last night, and as of this am, i have lost 19 POUNDS!!!! ONE more until 20!! YAY!!
Got a question, kind of delicate.. Do any of you have a problem using the bathroom?? I sometimes go days and days without.. I have ordered the internal cleanser, but my counselor told me that my body is using most of what i eat, so not going very often is normal. Still, it is uncomfortable.. Any ideas???

To all of you other newbies, who are just starting out, it may seem hard at first, but for me, once I started the program, it has been SOO much easier than i thought. Stick with it, i know i am!!! Also the support on this site, is SOO important to me. These people are just awesome!

That's fantastic. Isn't it great when we can have small victories to prove to ourselves that we are worth it?

When I read this I also wondered why you were on the green menu. I would check that with our center. At our center you stay on beige until right around 200 pounds. I would also guess you are not getting enough food.
You might try the fiberful. It works for some people and not for others. I believe that you can use up to three per day. I just use one in the afternoon and I don't have any problems. Your counselor is right though. Your body is using most of the food that you are eating on this plan.

Back on track
I weighed in at my center yesterday and I have lost all that I gained when I went Off Plan and then some. So I am down 11.5 since starting MRC. The ladies are really encouraging and helpful. I know I will be sucessful this time.
