MRC Take 32
Just thought that I would start a new thread since the last one was more than 30 pages!
|
I started back at MRC November 17. I was down 17 pounds as of the beginning of January. I have put on 4 pounds and I am struggling like **** to keep on track. But I am going to start doing my goals in the 5 pound incraments.

Denise..CONGRATS!! I was almost in tears reading your post. I'm so happy to hear about TJ and just in awe at your weight loss and reaching your goal. Of course the thing with TJ is HUGE, probably even bigger than the weight loss, but they're both VERY exciting and I'm so happy for you.
Welcome back to all the "oldies" and to the newbies as well. Today is day one of being back on track for me. I have until 4/20 on program so I think I'm still good there, but just being totally OP for one whole day is HUGE for me right now. Tomorrow will be day 2 and one day I'll get back to the gym. Take care all. |

Great to hear from you and congrats for getting back on plan. I have been on program for 7 straight days, which is huge for me and already I'm seeing the results. It will be fun to compare notes, and offer encouragement since we're both in the same boat...height, weight, and struggles:hug: I'm currently avoiding the scale because I hit a plateau and was getting frustrated and having negative thoughts, so I am just focused on staying on plan 1 day at a time and I know the rest will follow. |
Rocki-
Good luck!! I know that feeling. I did Metaquick last week and then superbowl sunday did me in! I ate more than I should have and not totally on program so we'll see what happens on the scale tomorrow! I'm hoping all the water I drank today will help! We can do this and will! |
Starting on 2-4-09
I am starting on Wednesday! Any pointers or words of wisdom?
|
I'm going in tomorrow morning to get started again. I noticed how many of us are, in Meemo's words, "repeat offenders." What is it that made us back off? What is it that we still believe in that brings us back to this?

Way to get back in there! :)

It's WAY easy to stray - too much good food that's off plan even though I know better. What was positive for me this time was that instead of gaining it all back plus a few more lbs, like I have after other weight losses, once I'd gained about half back I said "That's it, no more" and went back. (That is one of the advantages of giving away all your "fat" clothes - I didn't have any to fall back on & was down to just a couple of pairs of jeans that I could wear). For me, I like that it's a structured & balanced plan, I like the accountability. I NEED the structure & especially the accountability. I like that there's a definite maintenance plan, and I know it works (because it worked for me for a good 18 months before I fell off the wagon & let it roll over me). And for my body, I like that it's pretty low in carbs because I know how carb-sensitive I am. |

I had a sugar free Red Bull at work today...I was so wiped out I felt like I wouldn't make it otherwise. I WI tomorrow, so I really hope the extra sodium doesn't do me in.

Meemo and Shine On--How wonderful to wake up to the insight you guys have and how wonderful to feel like I've picked up old friendships. Speaking of which, Shine, you look fabulous!
Meemo--that's almost exactly what happened to me. I lost 35 and have regained about 17 and just find that unacceptable seeing as how I still have a long way to go. I thought I could adjust my plan to my new life circumstances (Sam and I really enjoy cooking together and obviously enjoy eating) but I took it beyond just that and began making a habit of having things that I used to have (that took me to 220 in the past), like chocolate and tortilla chips. And, the thing is, you're both right in terms of MRC allowing you to experience how your body feels "clean." That is, I truly don't like the way I feel when I've been eating candy. I get heartburn, my heart is a little bit pound-y, etc. Refined carbs make me feel like crap, but when I'm into them, I just can't seem to use that information to make a better choice. What you're talking about, Shine, and what I'm certain is true, is the importance of mindfulness in eating--staying aware of how different foods actually taste (surprise! I'm noticing that chips are too salty) and how they actually make you feel. Anyway, before I go to MRC this morning, I'm ordering our wedding invitations and announcements. I'm excited about this and excited and going back to MRC (especially since the consultant that I'd asked not to have to see anymore--who was also the director of the center--is gone and rumor has it that there are a bunch of really positive new folks working there). You guys, thanks for listening and having me back. Part of my new plan is to check in here at least daily. It was a huge help to be connected to this site before. |
Corti Slim
I was wondering if anyone has tried Cortislim and seen results?Or if you have had any side affects from using it?It is supposed to be good for getting rid of the belly fat.I exercise 3-4 times a week but would like a little boost to help get rid of the belly fat as that is where I am having the most problems losing it from.On a high note my pants are getting baggy again so I think I am it is time to make a run to the Goodwill for some new pants.
