I'm over it. I've missed you all! Here's a pic from Easter.....

Oh my gosh, look at how gorgeous you look. That 7 lbs will be gone in no time (if it isn't already!)

Bonnie, hope you're feeling better by now. I'm sure it's all water retention for you, but weight is definitely secondary to healing. Take care of yourself & dont try to get back on the horse (or bike) too soon.

Good for you for finding an alternate exercise! You're a true convert!

Me, I'm hanging in - finally started back on my walking last week, and with my upper body weights. But I'm just walking every other day for a week or so, don't want to push my luck. The first couple of days I was kinda slow, both because of my knee & ankle, and because it had been a month since I'd walked. But yesterday I felt almost back to normal - had a brief little shot of pain in the knee for a couple of steps, but that eased off. Just reminded me not to go back to daily walks for another week or so.

And man, were my triceps sore from the weights - everything else too, but the triceps were literally sore to the touch! Did the weights Thursday and Saturday, so hopefully today it won't be so bad (not as sore yesterday or today). I'm going to my nephew's wedding in late May and bought a sleeveless dress - that was the incentive I needed to get back to the weights! Not expecting any miracles, but if I can get back in the habit I'll keep it up - I really never should've stopped the weights for my health (to help keep osteoporosis away), but if vanity is what it takes to get me started back again, that works too. :dizzy:

You're right; that 7 lbs is gone... plus another 1lb for good measure! ;)

You are an exercise machine, I'll tell ya! Nice job.... but yes, ease off a bit so to not re-injure yourself! It's amazing to me how quickly you can get in (or out) of a routine/habit. I can be going strong with exercising, then something will happen and for a day or two I'm out of sync and then the non-exercising becomes my new habit/routine. I need to jump in and get moving again. I've been slacking a little. I've been exercising but not to the degree I should! Keep up the nice work!

Good afternoon!

I did my 2nd peer inspiration speech last night at the center and I think it went well. There wasn't an empty seat, so I take that as a good sign! I was nervous, but not as nervous as the first time. I added quite a bit of new info in there since the first time I did the speech, I was at 114lbs lost and now I'm done (at 185lbs lost). I posted it in my blog if you'd like to read it; I've also added a before/after pic.

Have a great weekend!

Any maintainers still here?? I'm just about to mainenance. I just got my stabilization week 5 menu today. I'm soooo excited to have peanut butter on my toast in the morning:carrot:

I was surprised to have lost 4 lbs. at my WI this week. How long did you all keep losing and will it continue? I'd personally like to get to 150 (about 5 lbs. to go) so I'm happy I'm still losing but just wondered when I would stop.

I started maintenance last week. With all the foods they kept adding in weeks 5 and 6 of stabilization, I was certain that I would gain - but I didn't. So far I have lost 3.5 pounds past my goal. I am still taking the supplements (vitamins, flax, MRC6, phentratrim, cortatrim, msm) and I am wondering if they are the reason I am continuing to lose. After I finish the supplements, I plan on only continuing the vitamins, flax, and msm (for my flabby skin). :)

Hello everyone! I know we are all busy, but I miss you.... all of you!

sherryanncard 05-06-2009 10:38 AM

I have just read this thread from page 1 to 22 and wow - you guys are all amazing! I am struggling with losing 40 pounds, and some of you have lost over 100! Way to go!!!

Quick question please...even though I did not make it to my goal weight, the center had me start stablization anyway. I am not sure what is happening, but I started the menu on Saturday, and have cheated every day! A lot of you mentioned losing weight during stabilzation, but at this rate, I am going to gain all of mine back! Help?

lv2ski2004 05-06-2009 02:44 PM

Hello everyone!
Wow has it been a busy couple of weeks. I just started week 6 of stabilization and with the chaos of life I know I haven't done as well during stabilization as I would like but also I have not gained any weight back and that is the key! I feel a little more in control this week so let's hope it lasts for awhile. I love having choices and love having the flexibility to have some of that food for snacks! It seems to help with the snacking on junk!

Sherry-
You can do this and will do it! Just start over and tell yourself that you will not cheat! Grab a HNS if you feel the need! I sooo know that feeling, I had about 2 weeks that I felt that I was spiraling out of control with the snacks( The chocolate on the counter did not help!). But I had to remind myself of all this hard work and tell myself I would not let it happen again, plus I gave away all the clothes!
Good luck and I look forward to hearing how everyone is doing!

WOW we have been a quiet group! I officially started Maintenance today! I'm a little nervous but know I can do it! I downloaded a calorie countin app for my phone so I'm hoping that helps me keep track during the day!
I have a question I remember at one point I think it was Neemo that had a log that she came up with for recording your food on Maintenance. If anyone has it and could send it my way I would love it!

I hope everyone is doing well and would love to hear how the journey is going for everyone....

Hi Tina! I've got my maintenance appt. on Thursday. I'm planning to use sparkpeople.com to track my calories. You can log in your food for the day and it will tell you how many calories, fat, carbs, etc. I'm home during the day though so I'm not sure how it would work if you don't have access to a computer all the time. I think it was Meemo too that had the log sheet or was it Gma (I think her name was Judy maybe) and she was from Colorado that had it? I have a terrible memory but I do remember them talking about it. :)

I've been using www.fitday.com forever. It's a great site to track calories. They already have thousands and thousands of foods in the database already but if they don't have something (like a particular dish at a restuarant)you can add custom foods. It's really easy to use. You can check out my food journal to the left, under my avatar/height.

Thanks Keeping on! Yeah my phone app is pretty cool b/c it will add any item, scan the bar code and try to find it and then record how much I ate, exercised and input output etc..... I'll look at sparkpeople also. I'm also manually writing it down for this first month or so. I'm a little nervous but I have a feeling I'll stick pretty close to what I was eating the last couple of weeks of Stabilization. Good luck Thursday!

Tina
