Sushi Questions...

OK, here's a question for any other sushi lovers out there. Can we have sashimi? I am not talking about sushi rolls w/ rice, etc...just pure sushi grade fish, alone. And of course sticking to salmon, white tuna, etc...the allowed fish on our menus?

Any input? My center seemed unsure...however, this would be pure protein, with no carbs - etc. My counselor said she "thought" that would be okay...I'd have to try it and see, etc. She's not a sushi fan - so was unfamiliar.

Thanks in advance!!!

I wonder too But I know seafood has a ton of sodium, so it might show up as a gain for a few days until you can flush your system. (Especially if you love to use the so sauce/wasabi combo like I do!)

I am a bit confused about shenanigan's post. Seafood does not have a ton of sodium....It is what you put on it or how it is prepared that gives it the sodium count. Plain tuna, salmon, Tilapia do not have sodium...am I missing something?

just trying to figure out how these things work

Shenanigan: True about the soy/wasabi combo. I LOVE it. However, I totally know that in this case if I were to try the sashimi, I'd have to forego that...which is okay with me in order to have my "fix"...

4givn: I'm not sure about that sodium issue...I do agree that adding the soy or other similar stuff is a salt killer. The fish alone, I'm not sure. Of course, some are salt water fish - not sure if that makes a difference? That may have NOTHING to do with it...haha. I am NO fisherman, for sure...so no idea. It's a good thing to find out if anyone else knows!

Thanks both of you guys! Have a great week....;)
