:carrot: Size 8 !! :carrot: Way to go! I'm impressed and I can't even visually see how good you must look, so you know your hubby was happy and proud of you! |
momofboys, I would also like to know the details of the metaquick, as my trip to see my mom is coming up fast. OH and that reminds me, I have another question about that - when you guys talk about the meal replacement shakes, are they the ready made ones, or are they in powder form that you add with water? Was wondering 'cause I have some of the ready made ones so I would like to use them for metaquick.... I guess I can ask the ladies at the center, but I'm afraid they'll just tell me I shouldn't be doing it.[/QUOTE]
Funny about the excersice ....I even have an eliptical (??) sitting in my bedroom that makes a great clothes hanger. I always have the best intentions....but alas...I am just lazy I've decided. :^: I re-read a bunch of post and think I found the right stuff about MQ....we can only do it 7 days total per month but generally it seems to be for 3 days. A meal replacement shake for breakfast & lunch with HNS in between and a regular OP dinner. I don't think it matters at all whether the shake is powder or pre-made...but I could be wrong on that. I just bought my powder tonight....good golly is that stuff pricey!! $21.50 for a box of 7! But we shall see....hopefully it'll give me the extra kick I need to look my best for hubby. :) Hope this helps a bit...good luck. |

Funny Board tonight!
You guys have been cracking me up tonight! All this favorite curse word posting is great - my eyes are tearing up. Let me say this- my father was a sailor, I married into the Army and my career field is construction....... you can fill in the blanks as to how colorful my vocabulary is! :joker:
The reality check is when the kids repeat it. I have not been good about censoring in front of my kids like some of you all have (and DH - there is no changing him!). It's always great when the kids embarrass the holy **** out of you in front of someone. They love to spout off in front of my parents (their grandparents) and grandparents (their great grandparents). :rollpin: ******************** Thanks Donuts and Denise for the advice as to my "issues" with BM. It may have been just a bug. Seems to have gone away now. However, I did stop taking the flax until it cleared up. I'll start all the supps again tomorrow. I also have to get back on that treadmill now that I'm not running to the bathroom! Donuts - WOW 6.8 miles! I can do 3 miles right now. I am thinking about doing a 5K, but am nervous. I have only ever run on my treadmill. :running: Question - Has anyone ever done the Metaquick and not lost any more weight than they would on a normal week? I'm not seeing the scale movement that I thought I would. :?: However - I do have a NSV from tonight - went to TJMaxx and fit a size 10 sundress from the Limited! Should have bought it, but it had a stain and was dryclean only. Oh well. That's how TJ Maxx is. Keep the laughs coming all! It was a great day on this board! |

I've never done MQ, so can't offer any advice on it. |
Meemo – you are absolutely right. You are the one consistent that I hold in my head as an MRC success. The others should be motivator on what not to let happen. Had my pre-stabilization this morning & got the manager. She is terrific! And she promotes our thread on 3 fat chicks! I feel a lot better & I’m looking forward to adding back in foods now. She reminded me that during the first food class, I probably thought I couldn’t survive on the small amount and then they continued to take food away. Now she says they will start the process in the other direction. I didn’t realize one of the lines on our tanita scale print out shows how many calories they predict you can consume and not gain. I’m just under 1600 calories as a projection. Another big reason I need to concentrate on the muscle building exercises – the calorie count will go up. I’m really happy I’m tall too! I really thought a 1200 calorie diet would be in my future for the rest of my life. Anyway, great appointment and I’m feeling confident again. I read her my letter to myself from my first week on program and we both got a little weepy. I’m working on another one so I will remember what it felt like to get to my goal weight. She was very interested in the peer inspiration class too – sounds like she might start one in Bellevue! BTW – went to see Mamma Mia – completely silly and I laughed so hard I cried! Great movie if you’re in a silly mood.
Alexiah – Congrats on winning the contest :encore: I had a feeling you would wrap that thing up. Now it’s time to set another mini goal! Any ideas? Darren - Quote:
MRCSL - :welcome2: I’m glad you found us. Bfatnomore – Mine varies greatly. My body goes through spurts of 1.5 – 3 lbs per weigh in (2x per wk) then I stall for a week or so. You seem to be doing great. Don’t forget about your 7 to 10 day plateau – it seems to throw people off. And the scale is only part of the success. Rocki – Congratulations on the stabilization class on Saturday! That should be a fun and proud day. Judy – lol! I used to use the word “freakin” a lot and then one of my clients said I can’t believe you just dropped in the F bomb – she knew me well and thought it was funny. I realized I had to cut that word out fast! Congratulations on the size 8’s!! That’s freakin awesome! ;) |

About the gain after one bad meal - it's usually just water from the additional carbs and/or salt (most "bad" meals involve one or both of those - at least mine do!) The trick - even on maintenance - is to get right back on the wagon after that bad meal. |
Yippee, Judy!! Yeah on Size 8s!!

I'm Baaaack
It's been almost a month since I posted and left for my trip and some of you "older" members may remember me and gosh, there are so many new people and postings. I know I will never catch up.
To fill you in. DH and I went on a cycling trip to France for 2 weeks. It's a good thing that there was a lot of activity involved or I would have certainly gained back some weight. The French don't believe in low-carb, substitutions on a menu, or artificial/low-cal/sugar-free anything. It's all full-fat and high-carb. After the first day I threw caution to the wind and just ate what was served. Of course, I stressed about not eating what I was taught and gaining weight but I figured that there was enough exercise involved that it would offset some of this. We cycled about 50 miles per day and on our off/rest days we hiked 7 miles or so. Some of you newer members may not know that one reason I wanted to lose my weight was to be able to bicycle up hill better. It worked!!! Lugging 25 less pounds helps tremendously. Out of 34 people on the ride I was not even close to the slowest. On the hills I found it hard but didn't walk a single one (even though there were some that were long and steep). I felt very proud to be able to do this and not shy in front of the cameras. Many photos were taken and cycling lycra doesn't leave much to the imagination. When we returned I was tired from the 7 hour time difference. It took a full week to feel human and not wake up a 3am. Finally went to WI Monday. Guess what? I only gained 1 pound. I was amazed. Granted when I came home I went right back on maintenence plan. My next reason for inspiration is my 40th high school reunion. It's coming up in September. Anyway I wanted to let you know that I'm back and have been thinking of you all. Bonnie |
Well, Im off to WI later today after a morning of committee meetings. I am worried about getting a HNS in before 5 hours. I just ate bfast and they will only have candy snacks (they always do!). I guess I can take my water bottle and put a HNS in it. I don;t want those people knowing what I am doing-at least not yet. People always say, "Oh you look fine. Why are ou dieting."
I just don't wan to have to explain myself so I will have to "hide" the HNS I guess. Wish me luck. i must say I like having more food choices! Those first 4 days were brutal! |

I am on my third day of small daily weight gains...Help! I am 2 1/2 months in, so could this be another plateau? I was down to 189.0 on Monday and today I'm up to 191.4. I have been on plan, except for sushi at lunch yesterday, but I only had the standard salmon/tuna/snapper sampler (no avocado, cream cheese, or other delicious sauces), but I was already in this gaining mode before I had the sushi lunch. I've made a point to get at least 96 oz of water, but maybe I need to try to up that? I don't want to make more of it than it is, but is there any chance the tetanus booster might be making me retain water?
Also, I just ate 2 boiled eggs. I don't think I've quite mastered the shells, but the eggs were still intact once shelled AND the yolks were a beautiful butter yellow. Thanks again to everyone who tutored me in the fine art of egg boiling. |
