Sorry didn't see the new thread, copied my response to paste here.
Ms Gigi
When I weigh at noon I am always about 2 lbs higher than if I weigh at around 5:30 pm seems backwards but just goes to show our bodies do different thing through out the day. So I would mentally not count that pound until you can have a same time of day weight to compare it to.

Hi all! I posted on Monday after WI and I was upbeat and thought this would be a great week. How wrong I was. Monday after work I went shopping for a dress for my son's confirmation this Saturday. Stayed out to late and then went on a binge when I got home. Peanut butter, pringles, doritos and sugared cereal. Then I ate my op dinner. Today I got home late from work and had a smaller binge. Then I got mad at DH and proceeded to just eat sugared cereal non stop. The good thing is both times I felt sick afterwards. The bad is I did it twice and am feeling miserable about it. I have a lot of stress in my life right now that I have to work through and quit eating through it.
Now just some comments on posts that I read;
Redgirl - Amy told me the plan is not about fat and calories but about chemical reaction.
Crystal - good to hear from you. Been thinking about you.
Ms Gigi - LOL at the syncing of TOM over the internet - I start in 2-3 days.
Donuts - loved the no cold stone dunkin donuts comment.
Well I better get to bed. Thanks all for listening and being there for me.

I had a very pleasing and satisfying meal today. Kinda feel like I cheated but i didn't. I made chili!!
I took a pound of buffalo and browned it, then just to be sure I rinsed it in hot water and drained it to get every bit of fat out I could just in case (if you don't season it yet then rinsing it will not wash away any flavor just fat. Then I threw it back in the pan and added about 3/4 pack of chili seasoning. I took a can of petite diced tomatoes (didn't have any fresh) and rinsed them very well as well to get off all the sodium I could then poured it in the pan, I added a little chopped green onion then I added around 1 cup of water, little sea salt, and let it simmer to reduce some of the water since I didn't add any thickner or sauce. While that was simmering I steamed some cauliflower in a bag until it was VERY soft, then gave it a squirt with ICBINB and chopped it up pretty good. I put the cauliflower in a bowl and topped it with the chili (made sure to get some of the juice to coat all the cauliflower) then a little bit of cheese on top. Ate it with a spoon. It was awesome!! I have missed that taste so much and using the cauliflower it reminded me of when I would have a baked potato and top it with chili (major chili lover). I am very full and it was so good. I have enough for almost 2 more servings. Think tomorrow I may throw in some pinto beans for supper. This will become a weekly meal now. I'll post this in recipes also. Yummo!!

Gigi:
Just saw your dilemma on the last thread - here's how I've been making my own HNS.
8 oz (or so) of Crystal Light - if you prefer Splenda over aspartame get the pre-mixed Crystal Light. Whatever flavor you like. I also found that Diet Ocean Spray cranberry juice is good.
plain unflavored whey protein powder - GNC has it, last time I bought it (couple of weeks ago) it was on sale for about $12 for a 1 lb pouch
egg whites - you can get them in the egg section in cartons, pasteurized plain egg whites (or you can use whole eggs & pitch the yolks, just be really careful of the shells)
Tricky part is the measuring of the whey protein - at first I used all whey protein but it made it a little too "creamy" for my taste. Okay but not great. Then I hit on the idea of using the egg white for half the protein & whey protein for half. Tastes a lot lighter this way. And has a little less fat & calories. A clear HNS is about 12 g of protein. So you have to check how much protein is in a scoop of the protein you get - the GNC protein came out to be about 2/3 of a scoop for 12 g of protein. Now that I'm using the egg whites I do 1/3 of a scoop of the whey protein & about 1/4 cup of egg whites. That comes to about 12 g of protein & 60 calories.
So:
8 oz of Crystal Light (or sugar-free KoolAid or whatever)
12 g worth of protein from unflavored whey protein and/or egg whites
Shake it up good & enjoy.
Now I see no reason why you couldn't also use 12 g of protein worth of plain old egg whites, I've done that a couple of times recently for breakfast - scrambled an egg or 2 with 2 extra egg whites. There's really nothing much nutritionally significant in the clear HNS I have aside from the protein. And I need to go back & find Jewelie's recipe for the meringue cookies - that would be a most awesome way to get in an "HNS"!
One more thing - you can make a breakfast or lunch smoothie by adding your allotment of cottage cheese & putting it in a blender - you could add fruit to it for lunch plus a veggie/salad, or for breakfast add a piece of toast or cinnamon toast or whatever bread thing you'd like. You could use cold decaf coffee & sugar-free Davinci chocolate syrup in place of the Crystal Light for a mocha flavor. Hmmm, that one just came to me, that might be my breakfast tomorrow (I should say this morning since once again I'm wide awake way too late....)
Hope this helps get you through until Wednesday, Gigi! Sorry for all the "thinking out loud"!!!

Hi all - stopping by to check in. This week has been KILLER with cravings. Maybe it has something to do with switching to the green menu from the beige? You wouldn't think 2 oz of protein would make that much difference, but I guess it does! Last night I actually ate chicken tenders. Immediately I felt nauseated. Oh well, just time to get back up on the wagon...

DONUTS:
Thanks for the reminder...this journey can't be judged just by the number on the scale! I sure don't want to fail on this.
I have a couple of questions for you all...first what is GOJI? Second, I've seen mention of "free foods", such as egg whites? How does this work in to the overall scheme of things?

I'm so sorry this happened to you!!! However...
I am laughing because I take my kids to school everyday, and wear my pajamas as well!!! A friend of mine can't believe it - she fears I will be pulled over, or in an accident and there I will be; in my jammies, no bra, funky slippers, bed hair... Never thought about the gas thing!!
Go back to bed and start all over! Today will get better - and at least the kids are at school, right??

Donuts - Thank you for the words of encouragement and the comments on my hair. I am working extremely to get in the "I love me" mode. I think part of my self sabotage comes from some deep-seeded feeling that I don't deserve to be thin and happy(ier). I know I do but something in my head tries to keep that from becoming a reality. I'm getting better but definitely a big work in progress!
Fortunately, the home scale was down this morning so hopefully my weigh in goes well. I brought shorts (that are super light) to wear instead of my work pants so hopefully there will be no stripping on the scale today to reach that 30 lb board.
ARMom - I know what you mean about stress eating/late eating. Been there, done that! Just pick yourself up by the bootstraps and get right back on this here train.
3mm - LOVE that recipe for chili. It sounds delish! I might actually have to buy some cauliflower to give it a try. Also, be sure and look at your grocery store. I've noticed that several of the canned tomato brands are doing "no sodium". I found some at Albertson's (and it was their store brand) the other day. Also, your story about running out of gas had me cracking up! Sorry about your crappy morning!
Have to run for a meeting. Will try to catch up more later this afternoon!

You can come and cook for me anytime. Your innovation is amazing. Everything you post that you cook sounds wonderful... as I've said before you should start a cooking show on the Food Network.

Hey there! I am sorry you had a bad day! I am reading a book right now that has a real good chapter on Self Sabatage. The name of the book is called "Wear your Life Well" by Marilu Henner. I am not completely through the book, but that chapter hit home AND was enlightening. I plan to reread the first few chapters because I think it resonated with me! She doesn't eat dairy or meat, so some of what she had to say about that, I ignored! I haven't finished it yet, but I think it would be worthwhile to pickup based on what I have read so far. I also am reading "Chicken Soup for the Dieters Soul". I am really enjoying it.
I have a job interview today. I am nervous. I don't think I interview well! I ramble and talk too much about stuff I shouldn't because of the nerves! Wish me well! I hope you have a better OP day. Email me your thoughts about Friday for lunch!
