Hvnlymzic,
You are so inspirational to me!! I love that quote! I thought the same thing yesterday during my snow day about not eating, last year, I would have had a food fest all day. It is so nice not to have that need any more. I think I have replaced the food with this board- I grab my laptop and keep myself busy. It is amazing all you can accomplish when food is not controlling you.
Namaste: Thanks for the kind words! Have a great day!

I'm not, but I just ordered it - figure it can't hurt to get through the rest of the holidays with a little help with the stress levels! I'll let you know if I see any changes from it. (I'm sure it's like most things & takes a few days to kick in.)
I'm on maintenance, but that doesn't mean I don't still struggle at times - I've mentioned before one of the best quotes I've seen on the idea of maintaining a weight loss - there's no "there", where you get "there" and you're done. This will be a life-long process to keep the weight off - I'll always have to watch what I eat and exercise. I don't anticipate taking all these pills for the rest of my life, aside from the vitamins, but at those times when my weight starts to creep up a bit, at least I know how to get it back off now before it gets out of control. I'm not trying to lose during the holidays, I'm just trying to maintain & once they're over I'll get serious about losing the extra few lbs I've been toting around.
Now I've got to get off this computer & get some cleaning done before the grandkids get here for the afternoon! And yay! They're pouring the deck for our new pool today!!! Talk about stress - pool construction during the holidays - what were we thinkin'???

Hey Carol,
Have you tried the Chocolate Mint Chocolate Bars from the MRC center? I eat one three times a week for breakfast. They are sooooo yummy and make me feel a little naughty for having chocolate for breakfast, but deep down feel good because you are making a right choice!! You should try one!
I hope that helps!

I heard a really good set of lyrics in a song a while back, thought I'd share, as it fits with our journey that we are all on:
"If you never try, you'll never know just what you're worth"
by ColdPlay
Since some of you were sharing quotes earlier, I like this one. It stays stuck in my head for days after I hear the song.

It's your body going through withdrawal - even though you're getting a little of everything right now your body's going to rebel at times.
Be the boss of you!

Thanks again for all the encouragement!!! It really does help. It makes you feel good to have other people cheering for you!
So I put my string up on my fridge. Makes me think twice when I open it LOL.
Every week my center makes me pick a goal. My goal is to sign that 20 pound board by next Saturday. It gives me 12 days to get there. I also set a goal to walk for 30 minutes instead of 15 twice by this Saturday. I am getting ready to go to the gym right now and get one out of the way!!!
I am also setting the alarm today to get my water intake up and in. It is really hard for me. I like drinking Crystal light, but I know that it doesn't count towards the water intake. They want me at about 100oz of water... I am going to get there.... slow but sure!
Hugs and good vibes all around!

I keep little bits of the Mint Chocolate Bars cut up in my fridge, and 1 in my desk. If I ever just need a bit, or I feel the urge to run to the vending machine, I just grab 1 of those little bits, and savor it, then drink a big glass of water, and that has been helping me lately. I am a recovering chocoholic! So anything to get my chocolate fix in, everyonce in awhile, helps.

Alexiah, don't stress to much on pre-conditioning...this is the time that you should slowly reduce your normal eating plan, to prepare your body for the new lifestyle changes. If you need something, then look at your pre-con menu, and eat something off of it. Something protein or veggie will not hurt you, especially if you just can't make it through the day. Once you get your real menu plan, you will want to not cheat in between meals, but on pre-con you are just trying to make better choices right now, and help your body's sugar levels balance out (at least that is what I was taught at my center)

Alexiah: I was told that while on pre-conditioning, that if I really needed a snack, to eat a half portion from both column A and C (assuming you're on the four-column menu). I had a day like you're having and had to partake one of those! It's a little easier OP, I think, because I can do a between-meal HNS to curb some of the hunger. Hang in there!

Oh yeah - I also take my Relcore and Hoodia together mid-morning and mid-afternoon. The Hoodia I buy from Sam's or the health food store.
