Ok, I know its the mens part of the board but I do pop over here occasionally and just wanted to reply to this,

I don't want to sound too preachy guys, but the sodas have to go. And diet sodas are bad too, if not worse. Just go cold turkey immediately, no excuses. Switch to water and unsweet ice tea. You can't lose weight drinking sodas...period!
Mainly because most people losing weight still do drink soda, just a lesser amount. I drank one diet soda a day throughout my entire weightless, up until about 15 pounds ago. While it is bad for you, is it really about calories in and out like JohnP said

I usually drink a TON of soda (and not diet either. I can't stand that awful taste). I've dropped to a can or two a day, and I've been doing a week on, then a week off of eating vegetarian. I haven't added any exercise yet and I've already lost over ten pounds.

You can lose weight drinking soda, but it's unhealthy for you for other reasons.

Imagine how much I'll be losing when I actually start exercising!

Default The Soda Addiction

Bad habits are the most powerful force in the universe...that's why we all struggle with our "addictions" like soda/caffeine/tobacco. But it's part of your transformation and something you will become proud of, eventually.

The bad news is exercise doesn't burn many calories.

More bad news - most of that 10 lbs is just water weight.

Worst news? Eating a vegetarian diet makes it tricky to get sufficient protein and you might end up skinny fat. Bad enough for a woman but for a man? Not where you want to be.

I'd suggest you start lifting weights and if you must stay a vegetarian invest in some protein powder.
