When was the last time you cheated

  • I'm doing it right now.
  • First of all, congrats on doing so well so far. At 6' 1.5" tall and only 175 lbs, you have done something right. Now as for those desserts, maybe next time you could send them home with your guests; that's what I do. As they are walking out the door, say -- "Oh, here's a little snack for later on."

But since you didn't do that, dump the rest; right now! In the garbage bin, pal. The celebration and the cheating is over ...

Oops, forgot to answer your first question: Ummmmm ... can't recall, but since I plan my snacks (no matter what kind they are), I don't really cheat per se ...

OK, I just remembered; had to think about it -- it was last September. My sista & BIL came to stay one week; they bought a bunch of junk: I ate some, but then I planned to as well. As soon as they left, I was back on plan ...

I had some treats on Christmas Day 2011; again, I expected that -- back on plan the next day! Hey, I'm getting better at this ...
  • yesterday. kind of, i went over my calories by around 600, mothers day dinner but i am back on plan today.

every time i cheat, the most important thing for me to remember is that i am still on a diet. just because i messed up doesnt mean i am 324 pounds again. i usually realise that i am cheating about halfway through a binge and tend to throw whatever it is away as soon as i notice.

it seems like you have a similar mentality though, if its in the fridge its on your mind.

i really dont even notice that i am binging until after i have already started. i think its a mental block or something that i came up with so i dont feel guilty while i am overeating, just when i am done.
  • I have a free day every monday to eat what I want. Im strict for the rest of the week.
  • I had half a bottle of beer last night. The weird thing was, I couldn't finish it.

Not exactly sure what that means.
  • Its BAD when there is pizza and cheese cake in the fridge, I hate it when my wife/kids have leftovers in there. My cheating is usually liquor tho'. This weekend I had a few big whiskey and diet ginger-ales, doh! Not terrible, but it makes me hold water and makes me stop losing weight for a few days. I hate slowing my progress like that. I dont usually cheat bad with food, I do eat "off of plan" sometimes, but it's usually not too big a crime.
  • Cheating Is Good...
Periodic, planned cheating is good! Best advice is to plan it out in advance but then commit to getting right back on your program. I found that a weekly "cheat day" was a little too often, particularly the closer I got to my desired weight. I would suggest every 2-3 weeks...it makes it more special!
