Joann I love that article you posted!! It really changes ones perspective about 'plateaus'. While I was travelling, I was really conscious of what I ate except for mainlining chocolate during the stressful times of the weekend. Yesterday I just listened to my body and ate exactly what I wanted, and I have no regrets. I was hungry at lunch, really hungry, and we stopped a Chick-Fil-A and I unabashedly had a sandwich with fries for the first time in YEARS. Last night when I finally arrived home, my husband and I went to our favourite Italian place and I enjoyed two slices of a small pizza with absolutely no regrets. I was very relieved to only gain 1.8 because it meant I probably lost a bit while I was travelling. Should see a nice loss soon. Long story short, Joann, the article almost made me feel okay about my one cheat day. Thank you again for posting!!

Happy Wednesday all!
Well I must have done better while traveling because the scale this morning recorded a huge whoosh! New decade, new milestone passed! Yesterday I did a 5&1 plan to offset the cheat day.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Laura, Congratulations! You have passed the 50 lb mark and that is a fantastic accomplishment. You should reward yourself with a new item of clothing or an experience (not food based). I'm just so impressed with how well you've stuck with the plan over all these months and the ups and down we all have.
You've learned so much about yourself and how your body works, the stress level has to be less going forward. Here is to the next 50!
PS great work while you were traveling. I think we've both learned that is a skill in and of itself.

Thanks Sheila! I try to buy myself something cute with each 10lbs milestone and the other week I had bought a couple vintage Cuban brooches which I may start wearing on my shirts. I'm hoping that the last two months of 'challenging' times are over and that I'll start steadily losing again. It has really helped my mindset to have had that guilt-free cheat day and to not make myself feel bad. I enjoyed it and then got back in the swing of things the very next day and I was rewarded for that on the scale.

Laura ~ WooHoo!!! So very happy for you! The 230's and the 6th decade are not far behind!!! I love this guy and all his friends!!!
I think it is amazing how much we have all learned on this journey. I like what you said about the "cheat day." It is so freeing knowing that all we have to do is jump back on Medifast and the whoosh arrives.
So happy days are here again for all of us!
I had to google Cuban brooch. Any chance you could post pics of your rewards?

Here is the photo, I'm not sure if it works because my laptop will not recognize images. I will check it later on another machine to see.

They actually work, even though they are so tiny.

It's been a good week in my world. After coming back from vacation without gaining an ounce, I am down just over 2 lbs since Saturday. I haven't lost this much in a week for a couple of months. To reward myself, I had a clothes try-on session and found that my smallest clothes now fit! Disclaimer: I gave away all my true smallest clothes thinking I would never be able to wear them again. The down side is, that the clothes I bought for work when I thought I would be working from an office everyday are now too big. Happy problems!
I think my success this week is due to the fact that my husband has been out of town all week. I actually do better at weight loss when I am alone.
I am hoping (fingers crossed) that the holiday weekend does not derail me. We are having extended family weekend at the family lake house that is sure to include too much food and drink. On top it all, it supposed to rain a lot which means a lot indoor time with more food and drink. Give me strength! Here is to making good food choices!
Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone!
Sheila

Laura ~
Wow!!! What an amazing accomplishment. You've stuck to your process, engaged real life and real food, and keep continuing to see your success both on and off the scale.
Before you know it you'll be at goal. I will tell you that the good habits I learned while doing Medifast those many months have sustained my weight loss and given me the tools I needed to manage my weight in a positive and effective way.
You are doing great and I was so happy to log in today and see your success.

Hi ladies-
On a whim, I broke down and ordered 4 packs (2 crusts/pk) of these Cali'flour pizza crusts today.
https://www.califlourfoods.com
I got 4 to get the total to $50 for free shipping. Shipping is $9.95 otherwise. I also used coupon code CALIGRILL they sent in an email for 20% off. Total came to $41.44, incl shipping for 8 crusts. That's only $5/each, which is pretty good, especially to satisfy my ever present pizza / cheesy breadstick cravings! I tried using recipes on Pinterest, but they are a pain. I prefer quick and easy!
The website says each crust is 1/2 lean and 3 greens for those on MF/TSFL.
Ingredients: Cauliflower, mozzarella cheese (pasteurized milk, cultures, salt, enzymes), eggs, basil, garlic.
EDIT: The whole crust is 180 calories, 6 g carbs, 3 g fiber, 15 g protein.
Of course, you have to add toppings, but a little red sauce, a bunch of veggies and a sprinkle of mozzarella will not add much. Will stay cautiously optimistic and report back in a couple weeks.

Good Morning Ladies.
I just started doing fasting with medifast shakes about 3 days ago. I know there's conflicted opinions on this.Have any of you done that at one time or another? I have a little under 50 days until my wedding and need to see if I can lose a little more. It was also getting a little harder at dinner time with the family and chaos so it actually works really well for me and I don't feel hungry. Thanks for any insight

Jen- I don't think it matters. All the MF meals have virtually identical labels for nutrition (calories, fat, protein, carbs, vitamins, etc). If you are happy doing all shakes, then go for it. That said, I don't think there will necessarily be any added benefit in doing so.
Are you not doing you L&G? If so, you are getting FAR below the calories you should be getting. That may put you in starvation mode, and actually IMPEDE weight loss. I am certainly no expert, but I would be a bit worried if that was what you were doing.

Don't leave out your L&G and healthy fats.
You will do a lot better doing the program as written -- 5 & 1. But all shakes for your 5 is absolutely fine! In fact, originally all Medifast HAD for the "5" was shakes.

Back on Track
Hello I am back on track with Medifast. I lost 60+ lbs on medifast in 2011 and kept it off pretty well until over the last 12 months when I have put back on 20 lbs. I completely went off track in the past 1 1/2 years but am ready to get back in the groove starting today. I look forward to the support I see available on this thread.
