Not a fan of the soy protein smell.

It is only my second day, but I am finding the soy protein taste and smell unappetizing. I do ok with the bars and shakes, but the entrees are hard for me to eat. The taste is not as bad as the smell. I guess it might be a good thing as I don't have any desire to overeat. I know I am totally wacko. Is anyone else sensitive to the smell as well? It is so weird because I used to keep a container of dry soy milk in my pantry to use in bake goods and sauces. Any suggestions are appreciated.

1961tracy. When I decided to commit to MF I decided to look up reviews of all the weight loss plans. I could not find 1 plan that had great user reviews. We all want the magic pill. We want the weight to come off overnight.
I have to say nothing about MF is easy. I have been on since the end of march and although I have success it took me to dig really deep. I can list all the foods I hate on MF. I have found the ones that I do like.
If you decide to push through the smell it will be well worth it.

I started my first week with a variety of MF products to keep me from getting bored: soup, chips, oatmeal, pasta, cereal, bars (4 flavors), and shakes. Being over 2 months in I am down to just cereal, oatmeal, bars, and shakes. At first, for the soup, pasta and chips, the smell did not bother me as much as the taste. I quickly found out what meals my stomach would not take, causing horrible gas and cramping. I even tried the desserts and pancakes but I eliminated them due to convenience. I love the cereal and oatmeal bars. When I get tired of cereal, I eat oatmeal. During the day I eat a mix of bars and shakes because the shakes give me gas also but not too bad. The smell no longer bothers me. Meals I eliminated due to irritability: pastas, fruit & nut bar, cinnamon bar, chips.

I noticed at first I was pretty sensitive to soy, certain foods in the program, etc. But after a month or so I went back to the ones I really didn't like and found that they were now tolerable. Might happen for you, too. I've never noticed anything about the smell. I add hot sauce or salsa to the hearty meals and soups and maybe that would help you get over the smell that you are getting. Hope this helps!

Yeah, I think that is pretty much what I need to do. This is really good advice. My stomach is fine with the soy. I cooked with lots of tofu and soy milk in the past.

Thanks for all of the other advice as well. It helps a lot.

Just as an update, I have been working with a couple of the hearty choices by adding some spices and herbs and some ff no sodium broths and have had success. I am going to try to add some low calorie unsweetened almond milk to the shakes instead of water.
