Day 10 on MediFast-Hi
Hey all, I thought I'd pop in and introduce myself. I'm looking for a less judgmental forum to discuss Medifast.
I posted yesterday on the Medifast boards that I ate an extra 1/2 cup of lowfat cottage cheese and I got ATTACKED!
So is everyone here nice? Wanna be friends?

Some of those people on the Medifast boards are a bit neurotic. There are a few that seem to wait to ambush people. I know a lot of people that have stopped posting because of that.
I think it is better to eat an additional 1/2c of cottage cheese as opposed to going on a full blown food fest.
Best of luck on the plan.

OMG...tell me about it!
First off, best wishes to you on Medifast. I lost 42 pounds on it in about 5 months but could not afford it any more. I'm now doing calorie counting.
Some of the people on the MF boards are so mean and judgemental. If you go off plan for any reason, you must not be commited to losing weight. That's how many of them see it. Well, I may have not lost as quickly as some, but I still lost, even though I went off plan a couple times. I stopped posting there, too, except on the Wednesday weigh in board. Also, since I'm no longer doing MF, I didn't think it was appropriate to post on the main board.
Good luck to you with the program!

I eat a little more protein sometimes - but at least it is not junk food.

LOL! I know exactly what you mean! I never got attacked on the MF boards, but I witnessed a lot of mistreatment and nastiness. I often wondered if some of those posters were paid MF supporters for the way they attack those who are off plan. I did lose 40 lbs on MF, but just like sandcar, I couldn't afford it anymore, so I am also calorie counting...currently on transition phase with 1100 calories a day. I plan to get to get up to 1200 -1300 calories a day so that I can start exercising again. Still need to lose 20 more lbs. Good luck!

OMGosh, you went off program??? How dare you?, Just kidding. I am all for indulging a little especially if that means that it satisfies a craving that could lead to an all out food fest if ignored. I personally am thinking of adding a little fruit to some of my shakes to make them tastier. I like them without, I just can't help thinking a strawberry or two would make the vanilla or strawberry shakes yummier. I think the weight loss may be a bit slower with my added fruit, but if it satisfies me without getting taco bell and I'm still losing weight then I will be ok.

If you think they are bad now, you should have been there when there was a team called Rogue. OMG! They attacked people left and right. They got away with it for a long time and finally one of their main antagonziers got BOOTED and they did not like it. I guess some of the attacking Rogues were not taking their own advice and eating off plan. One of the so called head honchos of the rogues decided to disband the team cuz they no longer stood for what they were founded on which was 100% OP. I guess one of their other bullies kept gaining her weight back and her boyfriend never made goal. They were big bullies and very hypocitical. MF lost a lot of people because of them.

ariesgirl...was this Rogue group around in early 2007? That's when I first tried MF, and I remember a really nasty group of people, but I don't remember their name. I was always so afraid to post back then, LOL!

Yes! Exactly! They ran so many people off the boards. They would attack like pack animals and post horrible things. They would then go in and edit their post or delete it to make it look like the other person was picking on them! Now posts can not be deleted and can only be edited within 5 minutes of posting and this done because of how they were baiting people. Medifast got many complaints about this so they changed editing and deleting. Only Medifast can delete a post.
Many complaints were filed and MF started taking notice and they were no longer able to harass people and get away with it. I don't post there anymore but I know a few people that still do and I hear that the biggest troublemakers are gone except for one that posts everyday (i guess she just can't let go) but she has toned her harassment down quite a bit. Still snarky but will quickly get reported if she starts her old crap again. Too bad they ruined it for many people. They thought it was fun but it was really sick. A pity that grown people were acting like 7th grade bullies. I hear it is a "nicer place" without them. I don't know. I stay away as I lost total respect for MF for allowing these houligans to roam the boards and scare people away.
I guess you seen their bullying first hand since you were able to name them!

I've been doing MF for 7 days now. Lost 10 lbs so far!! I know you're not supposed to do it while nursing, but I'm desperate for the weight to finally come off after being continuously pregnant and/or nursing for the past 4.5 yrs!! (and yes, I'm totally scared to put anything about how I'm still nursing on the mf boards).
Usually the only extra I eat every day is 1 boiled egg with my MF lunch, and maybe a few extra condiments to spice things up. I'm taking herbs to keep my breastmilk supply up, too.
The food has been a pleasant surprise-- I was prepared to choke down crap for 2-3 months, but it's not too terrible!

Bummer about your bad experience with mean people! I'm only on Day 2 of MF (this time; I'd done it in 2006) but I'm finding the MF site to be pretty okay so far. I mainly blog a lot on my own page and chat with a couple of okay folks, and I don't really cruise the discussion boards except for what pertains to recipes/ foods so maybe I've been lucky so far? Heh. If you want a pal over there, I'm "persephone" and I usually have a couple blogs a day going.
Cheers, and best of luck!

I was on the main boards when I tried MF last year and if there had been more support, my day 9 cheat wouldn't have turned to days long... the soy didn't work well for my system either, but a bit more supprt like on here would have helped me make better choices with MF or without.
Now because of the soy and cost I'm doing non-medifast substitions(another discussion on that here is allowed, thank goodness).

Hey! I have trouble with the protein isolate, so I have had to come up with substitutes. If I could follow the Medifast program exactly, I would, though.
You're right that there is a thread on "Non-Medifast Substitutions," but a word of caution--not everything people post there is actually a good substitution for a Medifast meal. That said, if you find some good ideas, use them.

That's because your not going to find "exact" substitions, so you have to do the best with whats available at the store. Finding a substition does not mean the Exact same, it means finding something comparable and if the totals for the day add up to it close enough for the individual person then thasts all that matters.
