I'm sitting here watching my hubby and 2 boys eating grilled cheese sandwiches! I've already had my l & g today, and only have 1 more "meal" to have today! I'm not hungry, but its killing me! Like I said earlier this is my 6th week, but Friday was my first day of 5 & 1. Its not bad I just want something to chew on I guess! What do yall do when this happens?
|
um...that is hard! I try and drink something even if I treat myself to a "diet" pop of some kind...that helps sometimes although not the chewing part! You could always keep a popsicle or other small treat around that you can have since you can have one treat a day! That sometimes helps. I am really on my 2nd day OP but I've been trying since this past Tuesday! I'm sure others will have better ideas than I do :) but hopefully mine help in the mean time! Have you been on mymedifast.com yet? Those forums people usually reply extremely quickly and there are some really awesome advanced people on the program that have amazing ideas. Awesome job though for sitting there and not giving in! That's a challenge in and of itself!
|
Thanks for the recipe does it follow the L & G restrictions? I was just worried about the cheese and stuff? Everything else looks good! Anyways, just thought I'd ask :)
|
I have the breakdown on the cauliflower crust pizza, as far as how its fits in the L&G. The cheese, as long as its 2% is a meatless option for lean and green, as is the egg beaters. I will post the recipe and breakdown once I find it. Yes, you just put the grill basket on the grill, the recipe would work the same in a skillet or a wok.
I weighed in again today, 3 weeks into the program and I have lost 14 pounds! It feels so good to pull a pair of jeans right out of the dryer and not struggle to put them on! Ha! |
CAULIFLOWER PIZZA!
CRUST: 1/4 cup Egg Beaters (1/8 Lean) 3/8 cup (which = 1/4 cup + 2 Tbs.) 2% low fat shredded Mexican 4 cheese variety for a firmer crust (3/8 lean) 1 cup Fresh Raw Cauliflower and then shred in a food processor (2 greens) Dash of Italian spices (optional) Mix together and put into a Pam sprayed foil pie pan. Pat down so it all sticks together. Bake 20 min at 450 till it starts to turn brown then flip it over and bake another 10 minutes. I made 4 crusts at a time so that I can freeze them and have a quick pizza if I'm low on time. TOP WITH: 2 tsp Ragu Pizza Quick sauce - it's only .5g of sugar (2 condiments) 1/4 cup 2% low fat shredded Mozzarella cheese (1/4 lean) 1/4 cup of the Morning Star Sausage crumbles (1/4 lean) 1/2 cup of veggie - bell peppers, mushroom, etc. (1 green) Put back in oven for about 10 minutes so that the cheese melts. This is an absolutely DELICIOUS change for a lean and green!!! I steam my cauliflower first, makes it much easier, and I usually use turkey pepperoni or ground turkey instead of the crumbles. I was raised and still continued to live on a cattle farm. I'm starting to be a fan of ground turkey, of course its not quite the same as ground beef, but I just can't stomach "veggie crumbles." |
Is the whole pizza one l and g?!
|
Yep, the whole thing is one entire L&G, I sometimes add more cheese, forget the meat and add a few more veggies and some sliced black olives for the "fat". I love this recipe!
|
Oh wow! I can't wait to try this!
Today was not a good day for me! It is one of our doctors at work 50th birthday. We had a graze day at work and everyone brought something! I didn't do too bad. A few tastes here and there and then they brought out the cake!! I had a small piece! And the weird thing is I felt sick after it! So I'm done for today and will start clean tomorrow! Just hope it doesn't mess my weigh in up Friday....... |
grrrr only down a pound this week. I know everyone says that week 3 is the slow week, I figure since I'm always late going places, its fitting that my bad week would be week four. Oh well, a loss is a loss, and 15 pounds in 4 weeks is great.
PLUS, I wore a pair of shorts last weekend that I literally could not get past my hips last summer and they fit great this summer, so its a non scale victory. How is everyone else doing? |
I'm doing good! Just got back from a 3 day camping trip with my boyfriend and a few friends and their kids. I've lost 8 pounds this week!! It's my first week of course...well actually sticking with it. I've gave up every other time but this week was my serious week to start! I was 152.2 now I'm 144.2 but I'm sure most of that is water weight but heck I'll take it! My goal is to get down to at least 135 by the time I head for Minnesota to our lake house in August. I think that's do-able! about 2 pounds a week heck yeah! I ordered a bunch of new medifast and am waiting to get it in the mail however they couldn't find my house and I have to wait til Tuesday now!! I was suppose to get it Wednesday of this past week but I wasn't here and I had no idea they didn't leave it! ughhh.. So, I'm living off the medifast meals I can't stand, the ones I had planned to send back! Tuesday will be heaven for me as long as I get my package! So, if I can handle 3 days of this I'll be fine :) I'm hoping the Pizza holds me over. I almost caved in but thankfully I waited until I weighed myself and was too excited to wreck it! I'm super excited to see non-scale results like you Jillybean! That is so amazing. I'm excited for you!! 15 pounds in a month is out of this world awesome!! I wish I had committed earlier but I'm there now so I can't complain! I haven't been 140 since high school so I can't wait to get there!! only 4.2 pounds...it's crazy!
Jillybean I'm trying your recipe tonight! I can't wiat for your pizza I hope it doesn't take long to make!!!! Thanks for the recipe again! I'll let you know how it turns out. By the way everyone ...if you buy your medifast meals from take shape for life I would rethink that. I know our coaches are all about it and everything BUT you save so much more money going through the medifast website if you use the coupons. I did it on both websites just to see and yes you don't have to pay shipping and get a 5% discount but when it all comes down to it you still save about $25 if you go through medifast instead. Just a helpful hint for those of us who are hurting from the economy. I'm kind of spoiled to have my parents but I'm still stingy haha :) |
Hey all! Down another 3 for 18 pounds!!!!!! OH YEAH!!! Plus, I am down two solid sizes, which is AWESOME! Lovin it! I'm hoping that I can be down 30 pounds by Aug. 1.
My secondary goal is to try a new vegetable each week, consciously try, that is. (Some of these things I may have eaten in combination with other things, but i'm not counting those, since i wasn't "aware" that i was eating them, if you catch my drift.) This week, my new vegetable is bok choy. i sauteed it last night with garlic and non stick spray, added some sprouts and a few sliced radishes, and cut up my grilled chicken breast, YUMMO!!!! Definately having that again! |
Hello all, just seeing this thread (I haven't checked in on this site in a while) and I am totally motivated to join you and go hardcore for six weeks. I have my best friend's wedding in 11 weeks and need to drop some weight before my next dress fitting.
@JillyBean6354 - I love the idea of trying one new veggie every week. I recently tried leeks for the first time after looking at them for months in the grocery store and liked them a lot. That is one good thing about this diet, you get the chance to really expand your taste buds. |
WTG Jillybean!
That is a great idea about the veggies! Keep it up everyone, I was bad during the holiday since my family was in town but back on track today! |
Well after being so good on the 4th, I gained a pound as of Tuesday. I've done good all week and go in for another weigh in tomorrow. Hopefully good news. I have lost a total of 34 inches though but not really any clothing sizes......I'm a little worried about this weekend. My youngest sons bday party is Saturday and I LOVE bday cake!! I don't eat chocolate so I thought about getting his cake chocolate but he said no....we'll see!
Any suggestions? Or advice? |
Well Oakfield, since you don't eat chocolate my fabulous advice of making yourself a "birthday brownie" won't work!
Focus on how much your son is enjoying his day, instead of focusing on the food. Keep in mind how much better you will feel and how much more active you can be when you get this weight off! It's a little corny, but keep thinking, "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels." AS far as the gain, my week four was a bad week too...trust me, next weigh in will be better! I have another great recipe to share..I made my family brats and homemade potato salad the other day, I had my own...a honeysuckle white turkey italian sausage hot off the grill with grilled peppers and mustard and made my own "faux-tato" salad. I boiled one cup of cauliflower, cooled it and chopped it. Then I mixed 1 T hellman's light mayo, 1 T mustard, a dash of onion powder, a sprinkle of splenda, salt and pepper and stirred it into the cauliflower. Then I sliced 1 boiled egg (my sausage was only 4 oz. cooked, so I could use the whole egg as the rest of my protein) and put it on top of the "salad" then I sprinkled it w/ a little paprika. And BAM, fauxtato salad :) |
When will the next one start?
Hi There,
I just joined and would love to participate in a medifast WL challenge. What I am looking for is the support. As I said I am new, and at times lost in this site, not knowing where to go, but I am on medifast as of 7/1 and look forward to lose 150m lbs. I am taking it day by day, but need SUPPORT. Thanks |
Hey guys!!!! Weigh in again this morning and I am down another 4.2 pounds! That is a grand total of 22.2 pounds since I started on June 1!!!! I am really going to have to rock it to reach my 30 pounds by Aug 1 goal, but to think I am almost half way to my goal weight in just six weeks!!!! i LOVE this program!!!! Oh and I ordered some soft serve and chocolate chip pancakes, I will let you know how they are! Have a great day everybody!:carrot:

Hey guys! fell off the wagon over the weekend, HARD...We took our son to a football camp, spent the whole day at the mall/shopping. I did well to begin, the salad i had a lunch was not a primo example of a good lean and green, but I figured it was better than some of the alternatives on the menu. Went to work that night, was STARVING and no shake or bar was cutting it, so I had an additional lean and green, then got home that night and was STILL hungry, so I threw in the towel and ate the leftover maidrite meat....I felt like CRAP the next morning.
So...yesterday was a "cleanse" day. Had 3 shakes, a can of tuna over lettuce and tomato, went for a 45 minute jog and today, I'm back on it hardcore. Weigh in is tomorrow, we shall see how much damage i did.... |
Jilly- did you get in any of those new foods? I know I need to place in order soon and would love to know if anyone has tasted anything new? Good luck this week everyone!
|
I have not gotten any of the new foods yet, my order just processed today, so I will get it at the end of this week. My coach said she had tried all the soft serve and her favorites were chocolate mint and peanut butter.
I ordered the peanut butter, which I thought would be great with some Davinci chocolate syrup, and the choc chip pancakes...I'll report on those! As far as my sabatoge attempt, I did GREAT! Down ANOTHER 4 pounds! That's 26.4 pounds since June 1!!!!!:carrot: |
WTG Jilly!!
I just had my first meal replacement bar (post workout) and I think it was pretty good. You can taste the vitamins in it so it isn't like a typical snack bar, but that is probably a good thing! But it wasn't nasty like I had feared it would be. I hope I can do as well with this as you have! |
I'm in!!!!
|
I'm new here! I started TSFL on Tuesday an dam down 7 lbs. as of today. I was previously eating "clean" whole foods for 3 months or so. I decided to switch to Medifast because I would like to lose this weight quickly AND my Mom is a Take shape health coach and wants me to help her out. I'm hoping to help people and be healthy once and for all! :)
So I have been STARVING the past 4 days. I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm pretty active normally, but I stopped working out for the first week so that my body can get used to it. I've still been running after my kids, housework and swimming so maybe that's why I'm hungry? On the days that it's ReALLY bad I drink an extra shake which seems to help. I haven't had any cravings or been tempted by other foods- with the exception of fruit and honey and yogurt! Oh how I love those things! But that will some in time and I CAN'T wait to start eating like that again. Anyways, just wanted to check in. Hope we can help each other out. I know how hard changing our habits can be, so if you need extra help please ask. :) |
