Does MF really work?

Hello everybody!
I'm new in here. I just want to ask that medifast really work? i'm 150 pounds and want to lose 30lbs. does medifast can help me take off those pounds? and long time does it take to lose 30 lbs? i have tried a lot of diet pills. it diddn't work but damage my brain. Does Medifast have any side effect? i'm really sensitive . Thanks all

janellody 05-19-2009 09:54 AM

Yes, MF DOES work! If you can stick on the plan, it is a really good one in my opinion. I was not able to stay on it and found myself cheating every weekend, but a lot of people have a lot of success with the plan. It is also very healthy so you don't have to worry about not getting the stuff your body needs every day.

Yes it does work. But, you will have to make permanent changes in your eating and exercise lifestyle if you want to keep it off afterward.

love2006 05-19-2009 06:29 PM

Thanks for all your answers. when you are on MF plan, can you eat something else or just only MF meals? By eating those foods, you can lose weight, rite??? I need to lose 30 in this summer. i usually not exercise much. i tried to work out but no time ( i know it not a good excuse). I may try MF plan. let's see how many weights i can lose in one week.

janellody 05-19-2009 07:17 PM

You eat their meals 5 times a day and your meal once a day, but your meal is a lean and green meaning there are specific things you can have. I found myself looking forward to that lean and green meal all day. :)

Medifast (and other meal replacements) were designed for people who have more than 50#s to lose. As they are in the business to make money, these products are now marketed and sold to anyone.

With 30#s to lose, your weight loss will not be as rapid as someone who is much heavier. You could expect to lose about 2#s/week IF you eat only the 5 Medifast meals and the one healthy meal of non-starch veggies & lean protein each day.

It is a very restrictive diet and for it to work you cannot go off eating other things. It is also very expensive, especially if one does not stick to it. Then you have to learn how to eat correctly to be healthy and remain thin.

Dieting is not easy and there are no shortcuts. With 30#s to lose maybe a plan like South Beach might be better? It would cost you less and if you stayed on the unofficial Phase 1.5, your weight loss probably would be as fast as Medifast with that amount of weight to lose. Plus, you would be eating in a healthy way that you could use for the rest of your life.

Just my thoughts. Good luck in whatever diet plan you choose. :)

hi all ! Do I need come to center or just order online? I came to MF center today and asked about the program. They told me that i have to pay $ 630 for consultation that i will visit every week to measure body fat. it will be a year. plus i have to pay 70-80 a week for meals.

I want to ask that does any of you visit the center yet? if i order food online, and stick with the plans , will it work?

janellody 06-01-2009 08:54 PM

I never knew of any "centers" I just ordered it all online. I am sure going to the centers is cool and helpful but it isn't needed and I am sure cheaper if you don't go. You can go to the medifast website and order it. I also ordered a lot of mine on ebay.. although I don't think that like that much but hey I am a poor college student...

love2006 06-02-2009 12:06 AM

hey, i'm a poor college student, too. i visited MF website, and i don't know if i order whole package or separate. Which one do you refer? Is it better order on MF website or on Ebay?

janellody 06-02-2009 01:16 AM

Well I personally ordered all of mine on ebay... I never ordered any from the website. It was just a lot cheaper on ebay if you find the right deals. Also craigslist, got some free stuff from there from people who didn't like it or couldn't do it for various reasons... my mom ordered hers from the website a few times, though. I'm sure MF wants you to order from their site ;)

Operator265 06-02-2009 01:20 AM

I ordered the 2 month and 2 free weeks kit. If you can pull the money together, it might be worth it. I'm not a poor college student anymore, but once was. I did the Ramens and mixed veggies thing.:D You might also want to check out WonderSlim from Diet Direct http://www.dietdirect.com/ It's a little cheaper and some of the foods seem to taste better. There is also more flexibility with fruits and such. I found that the money I saved on groceries made doing the program a push as far as my budget was concerned.

Whichever way you go, you need to start preparing yourself for life after the weight loss(I know, there goes Operator harping on maintenance again). But, you don't want to go thru this just to wind up back where you are with a little extra to show for it.

Good luck, whatever path you take on your journey.

love2006 06-04-2009 04:53 PM

Lost68lbs 06-05-2009 04:12 PM

This is the ticket for! I have lost so much with Medifast. I won't say how much because next week it will be more!!!

love2006 06-07-2009 01:37 AM

Really Lost68lbs ??? i wish i can lose all pounds i want. I just ordered Medifast couple day ago. I may have them on next week. i'm really wonder how it works. I didn't order oatmeal and bars. is it ok without those? i just ordered shakes, soups, pudding, scramble eggs, and hot drinks. i will try for 2 weeks. let's see how many pounds i lose in 2 weeks. i hope it works for me as you.

janellody 06-07-2009 02:28 AM

It's ok without oatmeal and bars but the oatmeal and bars are the YUMMIEST in my opinion ;)

sunnywarmth 06-07-2009 12:15 PM

I agree with Jane, the oatmeals and crunch bars are great, so are some of the soups and the Ready to Drink shakes. I am incorporating another product into my journey, but I will never do without MF oatmeals and peanut butter bars!! MF is a great program. Hope you like it, 'love2006'. Follow the 5 and 1 MF plan and you will lose. Rather than setting a goal to lose a certain amount of weight in a certain amount of time, set a prospective goal you want to reach, say months and months away, and for the time being concentrate on getting healthy, feeling and starting to look good, one day at a time. Otherwise, you might place too much pressure on yourself and possibly give up. Best wishes and success in your weight loss journey! :)

Personally I can do without the oatmeal. But most people love it. I highly recommend one of Medifasts healthmate blenders, Love2006. I use to use their shaker jars until my health coach convinced me to try the blender. I am hooked for life now with the blender and NEVER use the shaker jars. Also do you like dark chocolate? Well I didnt until I tried the dark chocolate antioxidant shakes and that is the only flavor I drink now. The RTD's are nice to have on hand when you know you will be away from the house for a few hours and will be missing a meal or two. I pack them up in a little mini cooler with some ice packs and I have them when I need them. The eggs are really good.....ADORE the chicken and wild rice soup...tomato soup....cream of broccoli.....chicken noodle soup....I dont add as much water as they say and the soups are even thicker. The bars are so good but you have to be careful. In the past, the first time around, one day I sat down and ate an entire box in one sitting. :-( Not wise trust me. I dont use the puddings as they dont fill me up. Play around with the program and foods, find what works for you. I dont have to do any tweaking of most of the products. I go for weeks on just the Medifast products then I'll do the 5 & 1 for a few days. I'm going through a period right now where I am plateauing, but it doesnt bother me cos eventually, the scale kicks back in and the weight loss continues. This is very normal so dont let it discourage you. It's just your body saying hold on here, I dont want to release all the fat too soon. I sit here now drinking a creamy frothy dark chocolate shake that I just mixed up in the blender. Love2006, you will love the program!! Best of luck to you and let us know when you items arrive!!!

Suzie 06-07-2009 05:24 PM

Sunny, I read your PM and tried responding to you with a long 4 paragraph reply. I then click on send and it told me I was too new yet to send PM's. I am so sad. :-( It took me quite a while to reply too. Aaargh!!

When I qualiify, I will send you a PM!!!

sunnywarmth 06-08-2009 11:23 AM

Not to worry, Suzie. I have never PM'd on this site, only on the other one years ago, that I saw you on once or twice. I am happy that the PM went through. PS: like this site so much better, the other one is rather slow, but certainly can be attributed to the economy, for sure! Thanks for your reply. :)

Suzie 06-09-2009 02:45 AM

I think I will be able to PM you once I have posted enough. Would love to keep in touch with you!

Operator265 06-09-2009 04:17 PM

You just need 20 posts and 20 days on. I'm sure you'll get enough posts in by the 26th.

I live for the chicken and wild rice soup. It is one of my favorites. Are you cooking it as exactly described? I find that is necessary to do. I also add some onion to mine. If I have less than 2 boxes on hand, I start to panic. The pudding is good but it doesnt fill me up. Therefore I dont use it. You might want to try adding splenda to it. Also, I have found that nothing tastes good the first few days, but soon, things start tasting better. How long have you been at it? I probably sound like a broken record here but have you tried the Dark Chocolate shakes? OMG they are also what I live for. Couldnt do this program without them.

I just got some wonderslim shakes and they are nasty. I am going to sell them on ebay. The medifast shakes, if prepared with a blender, are far superior to Wonderslim, in my opinion.
