digestive problems on medifast?

does anyone else here have any digestive problems while on medifast? i have been on it almost 2 months and the entire time i have been on it i have had problems with BMs. i read on the site that it is common because of the decrease of food intake.

i took a laxative last night and it didn't work. its very annoying because it messes up my weigh-ins and its uncomfortable. i know i should probably go to a doctor but i don't feel like its that bad, because i have been eating not a lot of food recently, and that is the main reason, not because i am unwell.

any ideas/suggestions?

I am not on MF but I can try to offer some advice. I know MF has fiber in the packages, whereas WS does not. Please if you do not have a BM soon after taking the laxative, see a doctor. Without a BM you could end up with a bowel impaction, and well...that is not pretty!

Drink lots of water...that will keep foods moving through the digestive tract. Have high fiber veggies with your L&G such as spinach, leafy greens, etc. Also, exercise is a great way to get your bowels moving. I would also suggest fiber like Metamucil or flax seeds for the next time instead of a stimulant laxative.

I hope it all works out for you!

With love,

thanks. i drink plenty of water and i exercised yesterday pretty hard, haha. the only reason i haven't bought metamucil or anything is because of the cost. i do take fiber pills 1 or 2 times a day.
