Also considering MF. Some questions...
I looked at the official medifast site and didn't find the answers I need. I hope y'all can help me out.
1) Do I have to visit a Medifast Center to get started, or can I do it all online? 2) Where do I find "the rules" about approved snacks, condiments, etc? 3) Do I have to weigh in somewhere "official" or can I just do it from home? The nearest center is one hour away from my home. Thanks in advance!!! Lacy |
Hi Lacy! :welcome:
You don't have to visit a center. You can order your food online and weigh in at home. You don't even have to report your results if you don't want to. They do have some good planning and tracking tools as well as a pretty good support forum on their MyMedifast.com site. You can find all of the learning materials and guides on their site (medifast1.com). Click on the "Learning" link in the top navigation bar. They have all of the guides and approved snacks/condiments there. Medifast is a pretty good program. Their Nutrition Support is pretty good, but their customer service isn't so much, which is one reason I transitioned a little early. I don't regret being on the program at all, I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am now if I had tried another program. I just was at a good stopping point and they'd ticked me off one too many times. I do recommend the program, and if you decide to go with it, I wish you better luck than I had with their customer service. |
Thanks! I will check out the My Medifast site.
I hope that this program will get me rolling again. I have been fighting the same two pounds for four months. The problem is those two pounds have 38 friends I'd like to get rid of as well! I have had some success with WW, but I just can't stick to it. I am the type of person who is "all or nothing". I need someone to say "This is what you will eat" everything else is off limits. :) I joked with my WW leader (who is a doll!) that if I was at GOAL, I would have been lifetime a LONG time ago. I had no problem staying within two pounds for the right amount of time. It is just the rest of that 40 that is still hanging around. I have been searching for something new and different enough that it will help me stick with it. I am planning to try MF for a month and see. If it works, I will be motivated to stay OP. I just have to convince the hubby that it won't cost more, cause I won't be eating out... and he won't die if he has to eat something different from me at lunch. I told him they have a men's plan. He asked if beer was allowed. :dizzy: I said, "No, probably not." He wasn't interested. LOL |
