Medifast via Ebay???

I've seen some of the Medifast products for sale on Ebay.

Has anyone just purchased the meals from Ebay and followed the diet themselves... or is there some secret valuable information that comes from the Medifast supplier?

I'm interested in starting this diet very soon.

Please respond...as the other thread kind of died.

Thanks in advance!!!

You don't really get anything you can't live without if you buy from the supplier, but still be careful buying on eBay. Watch your expiration dates, and since this is food, buy from somebody with good feedback.

Have you already started?

When I tried Medifast, I know a lot of people mentioned successfully buying from Ebay. The Ebay sales are basically people who tried the program and didn't want to continue after the date they could return it. I would definitely ask for the expiration dates to ensure that it isn't someone who tried it 5 years ago as opposed to tried it 2 months ago.

I wouldn't buy it from ebay as it is "used" - just the thought that someone could tamper with it makes me nervous. It's food, not like buying a used lamp or something. I'm sure there are tons of great people that have sold it, but I just wouldn't buy it. With the specials and coupons they have, it only costs between $200 to $250 for my food each month. That's cheaper than when I was buying my lunches, snack, pop, etc.

Plus -- the cost savings is minimal.

I've bought Medifast off of ebay twice. I had one bad experience and one good experience.

The difference I think is to make sure that the product is pictured on the auction. Make sure that the expiration dates are good. You can check out someone's feedback to make sure that you are buying from someone honest. And always ask questions!!

The good experience was a really good deal on stuff that they don't include in the starter kit. I got Cream of Broc. and Chili etc.

The bad experience was one of those too good to be true deals where the guy delt in pinball machines and sold medifast??...it was really stupid of me to buy from this person. All the product was expired and some for 2 years! After chewing him a new one through email, I tricked him into admitting that he KNEW they were expired when he listed them. He was in the same state as me and I threatened to sue him in small claims court. He kept making it sound like it was MY fault. Huh?? I was soooooo pissed. But I mailed it back to him and got my money back.

As for the bad deal, I learned my lesson to check out someone BEFORE I bid.

I sold my old medifast on ebay back in the summer. I just gave up because I kept cheating and couldn't stick to the plan. I sold mine as a lot as buy it now and it went FAST!

I purchased from ebay twice. The items I purchased were bars and they were new in unopened boxes. No problems at all.

Ebay

Just wantewd to let the group know, After two initial purchases from MF Direct when I first started, I have been purchasing the majority of my items from Ebay. I have never had a bad experience. I always ask questions of the seller regarding expiration dates. I try to only buy from long term sellers with good reputations AND

I also refuse to bid more for an auction than it would cost me to purchase from MF direct. I've noticed the bidding is a little more fierce now, probaly due to the new year resolution folks. Prior to that I got some really great deals.

:smug:

I've been trying to purchase on eBay, too and have noticed people are paying more than they would to get it from MF.

I wondered why they would bother; I'm trying to get it cheaper and would have thought they would too. :dizzy:

But I haven't won any yet!

I've sold MF previously on eBay, and people snapped it up, sometimes close to the official price, sometimes quite cheaper.

But would I buy it myself there? Only if the person had great feedback and their home was NON-SMOKING. Gag! I once traded with someone off a MF support forum (not 3FC) and never thought to ask about the smoking habits of the residents.

The packets were incredibly tainted, even though they are metallic-foil lined! I tried one to test it, despite the lingering stink, and threw out all of the rest after one sip.

I didn't send them back and make a big fuss because it took me about a month to get them from her -- with the delay caused by her brother falling ill from a infection that went septic and having to go in the hospital -- and her being too involved in that to mail me the MF.

That was my last trade ;)

Just be careful in selecting your sellers I'd say and yep, check those expiration dates!

I am encouraged to read that MF can be purchased on eBay. I thought about checking for it, but hadn't taken the time to look. I'm not interested in purchasing it via eBay, but whenever I try something and decide I don't like it, I see my husband's eyes roll. He ate all the oatmeal that I wouldn't touch, but he hasn't shown any interest in the other items that I will probably never touch. I like variety, so ordered a multitude of items, but I've found that what I actually prefer is to create my own variety via flavorings. I can mimic so many wonderful things (from an Almond Joy to a Mudslide) from a few favorite base flavors, so I have boxes of tea, chili, soups, and even several boxes of bars that I will probably never use.

I know our grocery bill has dropped considerably with MF, but my husband will still be pleased to learn that I might be able to sell some of what's in the pantry.

I think my shakes will all be going on EBAY this week if they don't start agreeing with my IBS/tummy issues!
