Low carb cereals?

Hiya there group,
I was just wondering if any one could suggest a couple of good low carb cereals..? At first I thought shreded wheat was good but then I saw where it had a GI index of like 50...??! can any one explain that one to me..? All it is is whole wheat...I thought "whole wheat" was good for low carb dieters...? Am I missing something?

Thanks group :)

Uncle Sam's and Fiber 1 are both low GI. However, if you are on Atkins Induction, neither are acceptable.
I'll try to answer your question about Shredded Wheat if you give me the nutritional content. I never buy it myself! It probably has to do with the relationship between the carbs and the fiber.
I hope this helps a bit.

There are now low-carb versions of Special K and Total. Both are very good!

Post Carb Well cinnamon flavored cereal is pretty good, also.

I second the Oat Bran cereal with some cream and cinnamon.

I may have to try some of the low carb cereals again, I just couldn't take the "sweetness" in the morning.

I ate puffed wheat when I was PG with my twins, I was Gestational Diebetic and I used that Low Carb Milk too, it's wasn't the best tasteing but it was something.
