crystal Light

  • Can I have crystal light on atkins? I drink 64-96 ounces of water a day but I prefer c.l. with dinner. Is that ok?

  • Powdered Crystal Light is made with aspartame, an artificial sweetener that is a common "staller" for some people. The pre-made Crystal Light in the bottles is made with Splenda.

    Hope this helps.

    All the best to you!!

  • So I guess that means if I want it I better find it in liquid form already.

    Thanks

To be honest, I don't drink any of it. All I drink is water & decaf herbal hot tea's. But, thats me, I am hardcore Atkins, if its not in the book...I don't eat it or drink it!

    All the best to you!!

  • ok thanks I guess I will forego it for the first 2 weeks at least.

  • Jerserygirl thanks for that info I had no idea it was different artifical sugar in the different forms. Hmmm I drink the powdered stuff and don't notice a problem but i really don't drink a whole lot. Moderation is key to everything I think.
  • Atkins or not, I personally avoid things like Crystal Light. Some flavors taste decent, others do not, but overall I'm not crazy about the artificial sweetener thing. Try some water with a little lemon juice, and throw in 1/2 packet of Stevia, an all-natural sweetener.
  • Stevia was just approved as a natural sweetner by the FDA yesterday (finally)!
  • When I was avoiding aspartame, but not Splenda, I bought unsweetened Kool-Aid and other drink mixes and added Splenda in the yellow bag (or Walmart's generic version).
