Daily Thread for Friday Oct 5

Ha Ha, I beat you all here. Of course, it helps to be 5 or so hours ahead while I'm in Scotland.
We have just finished packing for our return trip. Airline website says all flights on time so that will be nice if we can believe them. Hard to say goodbye to #2 daughter and SIL before they left for work and, of course, I had to snuffle and sob into daughter's neck. Hate that probably won't see her for about a year as they will not be coming home to us for Xmas this year as they have a wedding to go to in S. Africa in May. Hopefully they will be coming home for daughter's friend's wedding next September. (sigh) We've had the most wonderful time here but I have to admit I'm looking forward to my own bed and my lovely reclining chair at home. The kids' furniture isn't the most comfortable. I bought them a new sofa but it won't be delivered for several weeks. An early Xmas present for them. Bet DH hasn't even noticed I've been away. Either that or he's waiting to start yelling at me for some mistake I made in the paperwork before I left. Nope, won't think about that.
I've sure enjoyed reading your posts while I've been away. It's been very comforting to connect with you nearly every day.
I'll see you on the weekend thread.
Luv, LindaBC

Hallo everyone!

Linda, I am sad to see you are heading back home, but I guess al good thing must come to an end, it sounded that you had a wonderful time. I think your daughter really enjoyed you visit. I am sure your DH has missed you big time. You say they are going to visit my country in May next year, where about is the wedding?

Well to the rest of you (I think you all are still in dreamland) you must have a nice weekend and I hold thumbs that we all will stay OP. I asked my DH to help me to send a picture of me on the thread so that you all can see what this African look likes. We will try this weekend. :dizzy:

Love ya lots!

Quick Good Morning!

Raining but mild here today. DH is already up (a miracle) and is cooking Canadian bacon this a.m. He is off to the gym at 8. My eczema is nearly gone so I hope go back for swimming soon.

Big pie-making day for the weekend sale at the Old Mill here in Delta. I am going to make maple syrup pie and apple crumble since they sell so well - 6 each maybe.

Linda, nice to know you are winging your way home today. It sounds like you had a wonderful time.

Good going on the cholesterol, Hensa. Was the other bloodwork OK?

Scooby, I have my fingers crossed for you to get out early. It's always nice to have an early start to the weekend.

He's scrambling eggs so I have to go make an appearance! TGIF!

TGIF!

It is a gloomy rainy day here also, but I like that. We have been a bit dry lately. Fall colors are beginning to appear, I love fall.

Hensa I will be looking for your pics, maybe I will give it a try also.

Ruth, home baked pies, that is one thing I really miss. I never make them because I am the only person in my family that likes them. Store bought pies just do not tempt me. Fall is such a great time for pies.

Scooby we have no big plans for the weekend, just soccer, hopefully we will have some dry spells inbetween the rain for our games.

Great to see Kirie back.

Wishing everyone an op day!

It's raining. it's pouring, the old man is snoring......Yep, coming down really well too! Everyone got up late this morning so it was quick in the shower, jump into some clothes and out the door we go. I was showering this morning and I got a kink in my back! I can't get it out and it hurts like h*ll! I'm OK when I lie down, but I can't fo that all day--sigh:rolleyes:

No baby yet--the docotr had amix up yesterday and on top of that there were too many high risk pregnancies in te delivery ward to take my SIL. She just wants this kid out so i'm awaiting a phonecall this morning to find out what's going to happen from here.

Better get started on the dishes andgenereal clean-up, I'm going to my grandmother's for Thanksgiving (mmmm, turkey!), or to the hospital in Toronto depending on what's first! :)

Linda, glad to hear you're coming home and that you had such a good time on your trip!

Hensa, way to go on the cholestorol, I'm sure it is a huge relief!

Ruth, you just have fun with those pies, eh?

Have a great day everyone! :)

You all get a quickie today....on my way to Grandma's house. Her birthday is next week and I want to spend some time alone with her (just me and my kids) before everyone else crowds around.

Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends!

Have a great day and enjoy the autumn breeze!
