So.. who does CAD or CALP and which is better???

I got the fat and weight scale today...40.6% body fat. 240 lbs.

This is scary, way over my old scale...this one is telling the truth and I can't face it....I thought I weighed 232....my old scale was on the light side......I need to pull myself together and get on track....so who is doing CAD and CALP and what are the pros and cons.......Thanks for everyones help!!!!!

I do neither but to the best of my knowledge it is better to do calp as that was developed later. they were able to refine the program. cad tell you that you can eat your reward meal and does not hve so much guidlines for that. calp states very clearly that at your reward meal it must be balanced and you can not stuff your face with cake the whole hour (My failure at that program) so my suggestion is to get calp.

good luck and we are right here behind you all the way!!

Hi Scooby2,
I've read both books, done both programs. Nasus is right, CALP stresses balanced reward meals and I think is more structured. I, however, follow CAD. I love not having to have such a diet mentality when it comes to my reward meal. I pretty much eat whatever I want then. It's a really nice payoff for staying OP all day and I very rarely go off program because of the reward meal. The one hour limit is very important, whichever one you choose. I find if I start messing with that, my losses stop. I know from these boards that CAD doesn't work for some people and CALP does, but it works for me, so I'm sticking with it. I find that I naturally want some of the things that really are healthy for me at my reward meal. Of course, I usually have a glass of wine and something sweet too! This really and truly is a plan for the rest of my life. I hope you'll try whichever one sounds like you and give it at least a couple of weeks.

This may sound really dense, but what does CAD and CALP stand for again?

CAD is Carbohydrate Addicts Diet
CALP is Carbohydrate Addicts Lifespan Plan
