Glycemic index web sites
Hi all.
It was brought to my attention that there has been some recent interest and people basing their low carb life style on the glycemic index. I did a google search and found that these web sites were useful. Also check out the sugar busters forum here at 3FC - Check their weekly thread and they have a link to articles. http://www.dragonslayers-guild.com/lowcarb/counter/ http://www.enteract.com/~jldavid/lowcarb/ http://busycooks.tqn.com/library/features/blgilists.htm http://www.mendosa.com/gi.htm I also read the book syndrome x and related PCOS articles, both made references to this woe as well as the paleolithic (cave man) woe. All very interesting.. Anyone can PM me as well. Hope everyone is well |
Thanks, Pat. Will check it out. DH and I are both really into the GI these days.
What a wealth of information on the Net! |
Pat~Thank you so much! I think this is a terrific thread to have for everyone!

I've been following SUGAR BUSTERS faithfully since March 22, 00-it's been the easiest WOE that I've ever done in my life, and trust me, I've done a lot, even going as far as having my stomach stapled 17 years ago! I knew I was ready to do something, so I went to the library and read what I was able to get my hands on that was current. I chose SB since it just made soooo much sense, was easy to follow, didn't nix any major food group, wasn't a "diet" that you wondered when you could go off of it, rather a WOE that you could do for life, etc. etc. It amazes me that I haven't cheated once since I started, and that I've stuck to something for such a long time-both things I have never been able to say in the past. It unbelievable what sugar does to your system, not to metion the refined stuff as well. I was an emotional eater, not ONCE have I eaten out of emotion since starting this WOE. I use to LOVE chocolate, candy, ice cream, cookies-all sweets-now, I can turn my nose up at them-they really don't call my name anymore!!! I hit my goal weight on June 10, 2001 and have even reached 5lbs less than that as well, now, it's just trying to maintain this loss. This is the first time in my life that I feel I can confidently say that I will never gain the weight back again!!! That's my story, not exciting, but it does have a nice ending:) There's a great site done by an individual on the web who's followed SB. If you are interested, just click on the link below: http://www.prettyimpressivestuff.com/sugarbusters Good luck in whatever WOE you are following!:D Debbie 194/126.5/129 SB since 3/22/00 Reached goal 6/10/01 |
