AHH Ruth, what can I say? Keep plugging away at it hon! Are you having trouble staying OP? How aboutt hat Plateau Buster diet thingamajiggy, might do ya some good??
As for us, well, as I already posted in the daily, we've lost 4 pounds and it really has only been since Monday! Yes, I know it's water, but hey, we'll take it anyway we can! :) :) |

Thanks for the encouragement, Pooky. I have just switched back to low carb (Atkins maybe?) to see if that will help me get over this hump. If this does not work, I will probably try either the "Mayo" or the Plateau Busters. I really think it's not drinking all my planned water that is causing this stall.

My beginning weight is 140.50 lbs., size 10-12. My goal is for my size 6/8 suit fit, not sure how many lbs I'll need to lose by then but guessing 10-15. I really didn't want to set my goal as a weight though if that's OK. Just for the suit to fit. Jennifer |

I'm still here, plucking away, being faithful to my goal. I think I can make my Halloween goal of 15 pounds and exercise three days a week. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.....
Kind of in the mid-life, have I made the right choices, what is my purpose doldrums this week and staying on plan sure helps me feel like at least one aspect of my life is definitely right where it should be. Gotta go. We're off to a Rockies game. My boys are in last place, but I'm still a loyal fan and there's always the possibility that I'll catch Barry Bonds' record setting homerun tonight! I am so there with the cahallenge! I can't tell you how excited my dh is with his weight loss. He's happier than I've seen hiim in a long time and I think it had everything to do with the North American diet. He's told his parents about it and they are cheering him on too. We are doing really well together--him 6 pounds and me, 4. I am just so happy to have someone else to do this with, makes cooking a whole lot easier! :) :)

I am doing great except the daves hard lemonade i had yesterday 2 of them boy they are good!!! I am right on target and exercised today too. i went out to ponderosa and stayed OP really good!!

I had 2 good days, then 2 bad days. Then a good day. One the scale it all seems to have balanced out and I am the same this morning. But going full steam ahead for next week.
Chickadee, I am with you in the mid-life crisis, but your attitude is very good! At least we have control over some part of our lives! So, hang in there, nice to hear about DH, Pooky~ that is a great help. My best days are when we both are home, I eat much healthier- at work, I am susceptible to all kinds of junk! I am off to put in a pork roast! d. |

Hallo everyone! I feel a little lost today…. Remember me the ‘SKINNY LITTLE LIZARD’ of Africa. My last post was on #7 Low Carb Support. Is this the new thread? I was off sick for 2 weeks, still feel a bit dizzy…… I stayed on my new eating plan “Atkins” (don’t want to say diet) for the last 2 weeks, however I did not drink all the water and did not exercise at all, was in bed sleeping most of the time. I will report on my weight loss as soon as I weighed myself again, my electronic scale is still not working. (I had to take allot of medicine I hope not it had a affect on my weight) Allot of new faces, I am glad to see the family is growing… Please tell me more about the new chalange? Monday: facing the challenge of a new work week. I am trying hard to plan meals. I am also giving myself permission to spend more money for this next week on lunches out- it is a big problem for me to bring food or go out cheap for something low carb. So I am giving myself a little extra "lunch money" to get better lunches. I really need the boost1

I am still hanging in for this HALLOWEEN CHALLENGE!
I am very excited, after just starting last Wednesday, I have already lost 1.5 pounds! I am currently having no problems staying op. My exercise has been fun and enjoyable. Looking forward to some Haunting Weight Loss! jenny:devil: |
Good news, good news! Dh and I took our first official weigh in this morning and I lost 3 pounds (might have been the buffet at the casino!:dizzy: ) and dh lost 6! We are now at 207 for me and 220 for him. We're really doing well and today we realized we didn't drink enough water yesterday so we're going to do a whole inner cleansing today. Meals have been good--I got into the PB & J sandwiches last night--still have no idea what set me off:?: :?: Anyways, I 've had a cup of coffee and a bottle of water this morning and I plan on having bacon and eggs for breakfast with some sliced cucumber. Oh yeah, and WATER, WATER, WATER!!!

Wouldn't that just make you spit worms!
So - is it that time of the month? Have you been journalling what you eat? Have you been filling up on 0 carb but high calorie extras? Have you been into salty foods? Chinese is notorious. What plan are you following, SHannon? Maybe post days' menues for a while and the smart chickies may spot the troublemaker. So-called low carb bars and shakes can screw you up. Hang in therem girlie. We are all here to help. |

I'm still hanging in with LC tho I blew the Mayo Plan for the day. I plan on jumping right back on it tomorrow and hopefully haven't off set the end results too badly. Shannon~~Ruth gave you wonderful tips and there's nothing I can add. I would like to encourage you with this thought. Can you imagine how much food you would've had to consume in four days to gain nine pounds???? :eek: I think you may find that, as Ruth suggested, that it may be fluid. AND, HAVE YOU BEEN COUNTING YOUR PENNIES? Translated that means, DRINKING ENOUGH WATER? (If you've been reading the challenges you'll read that I've started putting a penney in a glass for each glass of water I drink!) Keep us posted! J |

We went up to the in-laws this weekend, I didn't do toooo terribly bad, but it wasn't good!! I've been OP for about 2 1/2 weeks and exercising daily....haven't lost ANYTHING!!!!!! I am so disgusted!! What is the deal?? I'm hoping that it is my thyroid! I stopped taking it when I got to Texas because I ran out and haven't found a Dr. yet...kids have one, but of course no time for me! So hopefully once I'm back on that things will kick in...and it better be in time for my goal for Halloween!! Also was there somewhere we were supposed to post starting weight and goals?? Did I miss all the "official" stuff?? Let me know where to send the horrible numbers someone!! Keep up the good work ladies, I couldn't make it even a day with out reading your inspiring and encouraging letters!!! |

McMon janice is right muscle weighs 5 times more than fat and is really best for you. I bet that there is some loss in your pants, are they fitting better??? I am sure they are. I also will find the post on stalls in the begining. I found it on another thread and found it to be really interesting. so I will find it. but keep the chin up and out of the carb dust, you can do it the whoosh fairie will be visiting really soon!!! |

Just to tell you guys, I have a skirt on today that did not fit for the last few months! It is so motivating to be able to wear something that did not fit, and suddenly everyone is noticing that I am losing weight. What is the Mayo plan??? Shannon just don’t give up, I am on a very slow roll this time the previous time that I was on Atkins I lost allot of weight in a very short time. I just have to say that due to the stress of today's events, I have eaten a box of donut holes (Timbits for us Canadians) and indulged in many cans of Diet Coke. I know I will pay for it, but I felt so helpless and hopeless watching everything on the news and crying all the time it was literally the only thing that made me feel better today. I know it wasn't the right thing to do, but I just kep thinking about those poor people whose only fault was going to work this morning and now they are all dead, I couldn't bear it. Tomorrow I am going to be back OP, today I couldn't handle it. Sorry folks, I guess I blew it. :(

I feel so bad about what have happened my hart go out to all the people who have lost love-ones and all the innocent injured people living in America I don’t think there is ANY excuse for acts so cruel. We have been watching CNN all night and everyone here in South Africa is horrified at what is shown on the tele. The whole thing makes me feel nausea; I did not eat last night I felt to bad. I started bingeing Saturday night & went on right through Wednesday. I started Atkins' reinduction yesterday so hopefully I'm back on track. Too scared to get on the scale, but considering I was wearing size 10-12 & am now back in size 14, I know that the damage was considerable. Don't know if I'll be able to reach my goal of fitting into my size 6/8 suit by Halloween but I'm going to try my hardest. Congratulations ot all of you who are doing so well! Jennifer |

Guess I missed updating the log this week. Let's start that on Monday, OK? Everyone weigh-in or do whatever your doing to measure your success and enter the information here on Monday. Tuesday I'll update the log and enter the information here for all so see. I'll admit I haven't been OP at all this week. I knew one of the pilots that crashed into the #1 tower (friend from my childhood that I haven't seen in many years). It brought the whole thing too close to home. My 6-year-old son has been having nightmares and is having a difficult time dealing with it all as are most of his classmates. Even my "whatever" 13-year-old daughter is scared. Why shouldn't she be? Her father and I are exactly calm about the situation (although we try to be in front of the kids). I'm trying to get my act together this weekend so I can be back OP by Monday.
