low carb and swelling

if anyone can share with me anecdotal evidence or any information on this topic, i'd be very appreciative. i am bloated and it seems like nothing i do will make it go away. does a low carb approach improve bodily swelling (edema)? :?:

cheers,
samantha

Hi Samantha and welcome to Low Carb. You live in my favourite Canadian city!

Yes, edema is improved by a low carb plan. The plans themselves are diuretic and drinking loads of water helps too.
Congratulations on your loss so far! :bravo:

Come and join us on the daily chat. LindaBC is from out your way too and would probably love another Wet Coaster.

Hi, Samantha. I lived in Vancouver for quite a while but now we're out in Langley. Yes, low carb does help with edema, a problem I've had since my first pregnancy some 38 years ago. I notice that as soon as I go off the low carb wagon, on comes the fluid weight.

hi, linda! langley is right down the road from us; we're in burnaby :)

i'm going to start doing carb addict's diet on saturday. my husband is going to make a grocery run down to bellingham so i can have jimmy dean sausage, which they don't sell in vancouver! i'm a texas girl and i LOVE this stuff. i don't like eggs so i'm sort of limited on breakfast options.

cheers,
samantha
