Frostbitten Friday

Good morning! Coffee is on! Come warm yourself by the stove. Wind chills of up to 25 below zero have closed many neighboring school districts, but not ours. The superintendent said, "If the busses start, we'll have school." She also told the bus drivers to pick up any kids they saw walking, whether or not they were bus kids. IMHO it's too cold to expect the kids to wait for busses or to walk to school. We are a very poor district and a lot of our students come to school with no hat or gloves on. Frostbite can set in in under 30 minutes in these conditions. Okay, I'll hop off my soapbox.

This has been a good OP week for me. I've exercised every day. Although I have to admit, I had to give myself a good talking to last night. ( I hope I wasn't too hard on myself :D) I don't know why it's so darned hard to get motivated to do my exercise video. I enjoy doing it and it doesn't take much time out of my day. I'm a mess.

It's tome to go to cafeteria duty. Have a great day and keep warm!

Good Morning Karla and all to come!

Karla~Good for you, on getting your exercise in and that stern talking to :)

I made it thru yesterday :cb: no cheats, and I did an upper body workout instead of cardio. I was planning on going skiing, but it was just WAY too cold and windy. It was only -9C but where I ski is an open park, and the wind was strong enough to take my breath away. So I thought it best if I stayed inside :D

Im finally fitting (fairly comfortably) back into my 16's! Thank goodness!! I dont think Ive ever been that mad at myself for gaining weight! I guess thats a good thing, because I did something about it! Before I would have just gone out and bought bigger pants. I had promised myself that I would never do that again. So far, Im keeping that promise.

Its been really quiet at the store, but we expected that.....hopefully valentine shoppers will be around soon.

Have a great day ladies
Robin

Karla,
It is hard to motivate in the cold weather I think, just based on changing cloths! It is not as cold here as it is there, we are in the 20's today and it feels WARM!

Robin, Glad for you and staying OP. You are a motivator.

I had coffee with the girls and my knitting has become a success. My friends all want the fuzzy scarfs! I have one I am making for little man and another one to do for a friend. Lucky the fun fur stuff goes fast.

Quick bite and check in, I am meeting a friend to do a little shopping before school pick up and then older boy for a haircut.

His birthday was fun and he loved his gift of a cheep digital camera. I have a BAD felling there are going to be some very unflattering pictures of me. I will have to sneak in and make "the computer loose them :) "

-Have a good Friday.

Okay Karla. I was really good Tuesday night. I did my level I Oxycise tape and felt sooo good for doing it. We Wednesday was my anniversary and DH and I went out to a fancy resturant, and I ate too much and drank 2 glasses of wine, so when I got home I didn't think about Oxycising. Then last night I really thought about it, but my knee was hurting, and I thought that the O was the only thing I had done different to make my knee hurt so I'd better not do it. During the night I realized that it was not the O, but my trainer had me riding the bicycle with a lot of tension on it. I'm not supposed to use tension on it because of my knees, so tonight I don't have an excuse not to get out that tape an Breathe!

Is Oxysize something like Body Flex? There is a lot of deep breathing exercises that are done before and during the Body Flex routines. I'm having a hard time talking myself into doing them again. It's one excuse after another.
Yesterday I made the low carb burger bun recipe I told you about. Well, they taste pretty good and they hold together if you put a sandwich filling on them which you can't do with the Diet Revolution Rolls. However, these buns look and taste like savory pancakes to me...not like bread. I can live with that but the next time I make the recipe, I'm going to tweak it a bit and see how it works with a bit of instant yeast added to the mixture. I will post the recipe in our low carb recipe section when I have a bit more time on my hands.

Well, today it's a little late for my first post of the day, but that's my crazy schedule for you! I usually/mostly love my job, however, there ARE days!!

No exercise for me today, unless you count all the running around I did to various stores this morning! No? You don't? Sheesh! :dizzy:

It was beautifully sunny today, and almost warm, at around 22F!!! You have to know that when I start thinking of that temp as almost warm, winter has gone on much too long!

Anyhow, I ran my truck thru the carwash to get off most of the salt from my drive into NYC yesterday (as well as the days preceding) - you would never have know that it's red, it was so covered! Well, at least now I can brush up against the side of it and not get myself filthy.

LindaBC, those burger buns sound ok - maybe you could use them as wraps? Anyhow, I'll have to try them......... altho, I've never gotten around to trying the revolution rolls, either :^: I've got the oxycise tapes here somewhere, I don't think I ever even unwrapped them! If I can find them, I'll pm you for your addy and send them to you........ Altho, it's because of you that I got the BodyFlex!!! (and, oops, I've only done it 2 or 3 times!! :o )

Barb, happy anniversary to you and Ole Alvin -- remember that all the docs say that a glass (or maybe 2) of wine is good for you!!! especially on your anniversary! Sorry about your knee tho...... I don't do the stationary bike either for the same reason

L144, what kind of fuzzy scarves are you making? I've got some really soft yarn, kind of like a chenille, that makes gorgeous scarves, only I haven't gotten around to making them (for the last 4 years!!!)

Robin - you are my hero!!! Good for you for not buying bigger pants, AND for getting into the snug ones! :cp:

Karla - you're not a mess, you're just frozen solid!

Ruth - hope you're enjoying your rehearsals. I just know that you've got all your lines down.........

Well, I've rambled long enough...... anyone I've missed:  Have a good night, all
