Thriving Thursday 1/29

  • Ohhhhhh! I'm the first one here!

Making it a quick flyby as I've got to get to work early today.

Foggy and cold today - I hope we see some sun later. We are supposed to get rain tomorrow and then again Sunday. I guess we need it as our season totals are down BUT I SURE WANT SPRING TO HURRY!

Hope you all have a great day - I'm hitting the showers

    Kel
  • Good Morning Kel....and all to come

Sun shiney day here, but cold. Might be a good day for a ski.

Well, I got myself together yesterday, and made it thru without a cheat!! Even did my work out. The day before, I was just a blob. So.....here's to another op, stress free day

    Have a great day all
    Robin
  • Fly by for me too! I am just so damned busy these days with trying to learn my lines, going to rehearsal every night and trying to keep things calm and structured for poor Harry! My homecare worker comes at noon today and will give H. lunch and clean-up afterwards, then keep him company for the afternoon while I go to town to buy another pedometer - long story but a certain black dog was involved in the demise of the original one and I screwed up the replacement!

Rehearsal tonight and every night from now until the 5th. What on earth will I do with myself after that? Maybe stay OP and work in some exercise?

    Happy sunny Thursday!
  • Still waiting for the scale to make a downward move. I've never understood how I can be in ketosis and OP, but still not lose weight.
Not much happening around here today. I'm off to run a few errands in a minute but I'll check in with you all later. I'm going to buy the ingredients for a different kind of low carb bread that is getting rave reviews at another low carb website. When I've made it, I'll let you know if it's any good. It's supposed to be sturdier and more "breadlike" than the very eggy Diet Revolution Rolls of Atkins fame.
  • Good afternoon chickies........ seems to have been a little quiet around here today.........

Kel, I don't think that spring is EVER going to come to New York - I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired and COLD!!!!!

Robin, good for you! I hope you got your ski in today...... the most exercise I got today was driving 2-1/2 hrs into NYC for work and then another 2 hrs home!!! Exercise? Only if you count me yelling at the other drivers to get out of my way!! (hmm - could we use that as oxycise??)

Ruth, I cannot imagine any black dog of yours damaging a pedometer, or anything else... are you sure it wasn't maybe a little bird flying in from somewhere? I know how hectic it is in the middle of "**** week" - I live thru it w/dh when he does community theater (altho not lately, since he has to keep himself available for auditions) - I'm so glad you were able to get some help to be w/Harry

LindaBC, I wish I had an answer for you.......... here I was all excited and about to tell you that I lost 2lbs more!! But now I can't, 'cause I don't want to make you feel bad........... I've never made the revolution rolls - are they easy to make?

Well, I'm beat, so I'm gonna go veg out for a while..... dh went into the city to see a screening of a short student film he did : aaaaaaah, peace and quiet this evening!!!
  • I'm getting into the henhouse late today. This has been a pretty good week. I've managed to actually do my Oxycise tape every day. I only have the level one tape, but for now that's all I can handle. I finally hit 290. That's 40 pounds gone since July 21, 2003! The assistant principal told me that the sweater I had on today really showed how much weight I'd lost. Think I'll wear it everyday.

My little guy goes to IA. City tomorrow for his regular round of chemo. He's had a rough time of it this time around. He is in remission, but they've got to be aggressive with the chemo to keep him there.

His little niece (3yo) is at the house when I go to tutor, most days. She always announces me. "Teacher's here!, Do you have a story for us today, Teacher?" She is so cute. We are doing a story element unit in L.A. class, so usually I have a story for her. She keeps everyone's spirits up.

We had a little snow today. Not much, just an inch or so. The kids were all wondering if we were going to have an early dismissal. I can remember when I was a kid we never had early dismissal and precious few snow days. Our superintendent of schools didn't believe in them.

Well, it's time to get to work. Stay warm.
