Nursing Mother Question
 

Does anyone have any info on lo-carb/Atkins and nursing mother? I have a friend who was on Atkins but was told she couldn't do it while nursing . . . .

Hi From A fellow nursing mom,

I have done some research on this b/c I too am a Nursing Atkins mom. Atkins website does say for nursing moms to follow the lifetime maintenance plan. I am however doing the induction part right now. I do not see any change in his eating as far as him not getting enough. But if it does start to affect him, I will stop the program. He is 16 pounds at 4 mo so I don't think it is bothering him........ if anyone else has any input on this please let me know. I have not even gotten back to prepregnancy weight yet..... Penny
