What to pack in a bag lunch?

Ok, I have a few days coming up where I'll have to be away all day and I'm wondering what I can take as a packed lunch. I don't want to depend on the availability of fast food because it may or may not be close by. What can I pack that doesn't require refirgeration? Even tho the meal replacment bars cause me to stall, it's better than gaining or going off plan. Will those be my only easily packable option?

I just can't think of a single thing I can pack that doesn't need to be kept cold!

Help, please!

those cute little individual envelopes of tuna

beef or turkey jerky

soy nuts

those little bonbel/baby bell cheeses that are encase in plastic

if you can take a little insulate bag with some ice packs, then you can expand to other things, like deli rollups

The tuna cans is a great idea (I keep some of the small ones at work, the ones with the peel off lids, for emergencies). I think you can bring some cut up veggies that should last, like celery, cauliflower, lettuce leaves, a couple of cherry tomatoes.

I agree that you might want to invest in an insulated lunch bag and a small ice pack...this should solve your major problems. My dh does this most days as he is not as lucky as I am and does not have a fridge at his place of work.

Good luck!

Thanks guys - great suggestions!

I may even have an insulated bag around here somewhere...and I know I have those freezer pack thingies. I dunno why I couldn't put two and two together!

THANKS!

Veggies and dip, plus string cheese and nuts. Not a very conventional lunch, but nothing has to be heated up.
