Wednesday-Hump day, 8/20

  • Good morning lazy chicks!!! Coffee's on and HOT!!!!!

Induction is breezing by - I have been vrey careful to have food available that I can eat though!!!

Hope everyone is happy and well - sounds as if we are all busy.

DH and Broinlaw are off to Bristol for NASCAR this weekend and we are perilously close to Univ of Tennessee football time!! So.......that means no DH on Saturdays....not necessarily a bad thing!

    Have a great day!!!
  • morning scooby- I'm trying to be in induction, it's easier each day, but still a struggle. I think I'm down a pound.

Paperwork day today. Got a pile of stuff to be sorted and dealt with, and I was up in the night worrying over the stack of writing to be done before a sept audit. I think I'll feel better if I get some out of the way.

Dh is working some evenings and doesn't get home til late(as you say, soccby, not always a bad thing ) But we are tired! the mornings are hard when I've been up too late. I'm a baby about getting sleep!

hey Pooky , where are you?

    have a great one,
    dottie
  • Good morning, Early Chicks, our Rooster and those to come.

Harry has a guy coming to look at our broken riding mower at 7! I love the country! I have a bunch of store-bought muffins thawing in the micro as you never offer coffee to anyone around here without a "little something". I have no problem resisting store-bought muffins but don't put me near my own bran and raisin ones! Harry is truggling to get his rear in gear.

Big afternoon coming up! Hershey starts her Thera-Paws job and "the press" will be there. The organization is trying to let the world know about their work and today just happens to be the day the "media" will be there. This is just freaking me out! I'm sure glad we both got haircuts yesterday. "No pictures, please!"
How the heck can Hersh be famous when she hasn't even started the job? I guess going to Church and acing the test may have done it. I feel like a show business Mom.

I've been over to water at the Fair Grounds this morning. Everything is looking really crappy but may come back a bit. If not, out it goes. The Fair is well over but there are several events booked for September and it sure would be nice to have it spiffy. If necessary, I'll plug in mums, if the budget allows.

Whoops, nearly 7. Have a good OP day - back later
  • Good Morning All.

Yesterday was great, although a bit too busy for my tastes, didn't get to bed until 1am, and I too am a baby about getting my sleep..

Didn't even make a dint in my paperwork yesterday, half my caseload is going back to school right away and I really need to get that stuff done or no school supplies for them. Thank goodness, I have an office day today so I can hide in there and catch up.

The huge basement cleaning went very well although it contributed greatly to the lateness of the evening. Half of it is done now and mom is going back 2 more days this week to finish up. It's such a shame I never took after her side of the family, really tall and very thin, she looks fantastic. But my dad's side is all short and dumpy, voila me!

Another hot day here, we haven't had a break in over 3 weeks, over 30 every day and no rain! Hopefully it will break soon so we can all breathe a little easier.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day.

    Tummy
  • Good Morning everyone

Another nice day here, nice and hot, and not too humid.

Ive been searching all over for hubby's b-day present, and I just couldnt believe how hard it was to find!! He wants a "hummer" but unless we win the lotto its not going to happen, so I thought a matchbox hummer, or something like that would do. Well, just try to find one! Ive been looking since last sunday......finally last night, I got on the phone and after about 1/2 hour, I located one. Die-cast 10inches in length, and a real cool copper colour. Well, then I had to get directions and pray I didnt get lost getting there!! I got there! and the hummer looks soooooooooooo cool. Im very pleased....now he better like the d*mn thing, or else!

Thats been the excitement in my life this week Have a great day everyone

    Robin
  • Good Morning Ladies & Gent

Thank you so much for your birthday wishes, really made my day! DSHH forgot my bday :-(. Really! He has offered me a trip back east to see my friends and family as a belated one. So he is on! Gonna cost him, man flights are expensive, 1100.00 to fly 25000 miles. So I am on the fat fast, gonna drop some more weight before my trip, or my mother will harp at me health issues yada yada yada. The one I like the least is "you have such a pretty face" hmmmm grrrr. Gonna not give her anything to complain about. HA!

Our weather is changing, very cool in the mornings, which I like while I sit on my deck listening to the finchs chirp.

Have a great OP day yall!
  • Morning all. I went over the 20g limit yesterday by 4g. It was a hard day and evening. Actually, the day was alright. It was the evening that got to me. I am definitely a stress eater. DH is off for the week on a work related injury. He usually works nights so he has really thrown off my routine. The kids were all bickering and whining. All of that together made me want to eat. And I did. I had sf jello with whipped cream, celery with cream cheese and topped it off with 10 olives. I wasn't horrible but I did go over. I need to figure how to advert those stress eating episodes. Does anyone else do that?

Well, today is a new day and it's going to be better. Sounds like a great B-day present for your DH Robin. Especially with all of the effort you put into it!

    Everyone have a great day!
  • Good morning everyone!!

I am doing pretty good, although I could use more sleep! My kids had back to back soccer practice last night and even though I was just watching, it wore me out!

Turtle: going over by 4 g isnt too bad if you are over the first 2 weeks of induction, right? Most people would be adding 5 g a week at this point anyway!. I have just the oposite problem, I dont know how to go over 6! I even had a Atkins choco shake.. granted it is only 1 carb.. but I still came in at 6! And I am eating lots of salads and veggies. And coffee with cream in the mornings!

I am thinking about adding some fruits to the diet. I also want to make a tofu smoothie today with some strawberries. the one in the atkins book has too many carbs for my liking right now, so I am going to try to come up with a less carb one... around 4 or so! Does anyone have a good lower carb smoothie recipe?

Ok, I am out of here for now... gotta go eat some breakfast!
  • Hello chickies & rooster,

A lot of running around the last few days but things are in good shape for DS birthday. The family cake is baking now and I will ice it later tonight or first think tomorrow morning. I have a bunch of candy and it will be a pirate cake with "treasure" all around when I am done. His party with friends is on Saturday and I will be making a "Batman" cake for that. I tried to weazle out this year but he said he likes my cakes better.

Have been eating OP but the veggies are pretty much gone so I may have to squeeze some grocery shopping in to the next few days. At least our house NEVER runs out of protein

It looks like as a reward for sticking with it the scale has finally moved lower! It's only 1.5 pounds but I'll take what I can get!!

It is warm and sunny here and I have my fingers crossed that it doesn't rain on Saturday!!
  • happy Wednesday chicks and rooster,

Just dropping in to catch up on my reading.

Low Carb wishes to you all.
  • Good afternoon, Chicks. Where is everybody?
I went to the pool this morning thinking one friend would be there. She's the one who called me last night to ensure I was going but she wasn't there. Well, that just meant that I got more exercising done in my hour without all the yacking.
Last night I went blackberry picking and will probably go again tonight. It's so hard to resist those juicy morsels but I managed to have only 4 or 5. The rest went in the freezer to make jam when the weather cools off.
Came home from the pool and had to do a lot of hand watering. We are on severe water restrictions...no lawn watering at all...which means my automatic sprinkler system is useless as it covers lawns and flower beds. It takes forever to hand water my extensive flower beds and you know that it barely penetrates the surface in this heat. Rain has been predicted for the weekend so I hope that helps.
  • Good evening chicks and rooster:

I was too exhausted yesterday to post. It was a long, hard day. DH got home from his Ram's game at 2:30 AM. I woke up to say hello and couldn't go back to sleep. It was my weigh in day and I gained 2 pounds! I was really bummed about that, but I think I know what the problem was. I've started taking fiber tablets and hope that solves the problem. So anyway, I got to school waaaay early (5:30) and got some work finished. Things didn't go so well after everyone else got to work. By the time I got home, my tail was dragging.

Today was much better. This was the kids' first day. It was great to see them again. They have all grown so much over the summer. The shortest kid in class last year is now one of the tallest.

They are having a hard time adjusting to the fact that since they're 8th graders I'm going to be a lot stricter, trying to toughen them up for high school. I love my job and so happy to be back.

    Have a great evening!!
