Tummy, you're gonna dry up and blow away! How many calories is that? However - this attitude may be just why I'm not losing weight!

Laurel, your induction looks like it's going toward the right direction...can you replace some of those almonds with a big salad? Atkin's wants us to eat 3 cups of salad a day. You could put some cucumbers and ranch on it, and sprinkle almonds on top. Yum! And more fiber!

Default TOASTY TUESDAY

Pretty warm here today - our a/c is still non-functional...and another day home due to power conservation...yippee (I could get used to this!).

Bad new is I think I had some sort of food poisoning last night....had a headache all afternoon...ended up going out for supper....feeling worse and worse until bedtime..when dh mentioned how "green" I looked! Yes it was time to stay close to the bathroom...I felt so bad!

Feeling better today.....but still slight headache...wondering if my "new" supplement might be causing this? Only other "new' thing is the flaxmeal muffins I made with some designer whey protein shake powder...maybe something in there disagrees with me?

Breakfast:
decaf w/cream (2)
1 flaxmeal mufin (3.5)
2 slices edam cheese (.6)
=6.1

Lunch:
3 hb eggs (1.8)
mayo (.5)
salad (2)
dressing (2)
=6.3

Dinner: (don't feel like eating but kinda hungry???
1/3 cup eggplant salad (3)
1/2 cup yogurt w/sf chocolate sauce (5)
=8

Total: 20.4....If I'm hungry later I will eat again??? Hope I don't feel pukey!

Default WACKED OUT WEDNESDAY

Still sweating at home, as federal government (I am a loyal public servant) is still shut down due to energy conservation issues (it's like over 90 degrees and windows on most gov buildings don't open and no ac is on!)...probably til the end of the week! Wish my AC was working...as it is I have to slip out every afternoon and drive somewhere in my airconditioned van as the house gets stifling by mid afternoon. Today a visit to Chapters and Starbucks for an iced coffee!

Breakfast:
1 slice edam (.3)
flax meal muffin (3.5)
decaf w/cream (1.5)
=5.3

Lunch:
3 (!!!) hamburger patties (0)
salad (2.3)
caesar dressing (1.2)
=3.5

Snack:
iced decaf cafe americano w/sf vanilla syrup & cream (3)

Then came the suppertime fiasco....not feeling great, tired and not even that hungry....but begin nibbling stuff I shouldn't from youngest's plate!

THIS WAS MY DINNER!!!:
3 slices bacon (.7)
1 piece cauliflower (.3)
6 french fries (5)
some canned corn (8)
6 blueberries (1)
diet soft drink (1)
= 16

For a grand total of: 27.8......trying to stay around 25 carbs, so this is a bit much, especially given the fact I did not eat what I was supposed to eat.....

Thanks for the feedback, Tummy and Jennifer!
Still working on perfecting those menus...

I have a question:
Do you think that fat and carb intake should be restricted later in the day? Will it aid in fat loss or does it not make a difference? Thanks!

Laural, I'm actually beginning that little experiment right now. I was looking back at my menus over the past week and it seems that the majority of my carbs are at dinner time. This past week I've been bouncing around between 195 and 196 with no loss at all so I'm going to see if that makes a difference because when I was lossing more I ate most of my carbs during the first 2 meals of the day, or at least equal amounts at all 3 meals. I'll let everyone know how it turns out. Also noticed that my salt intake is a bit on the high side so cutting that back with a vengence too. Does anyone know what the daily recommended sodium intake is? I've found a whole bunch of different numbers for it, it's getting a bit confusing.

B
coffee w/splenda
3 deviled eggs
(4)

L
1 hard boiled egg
1 cup cucumbers
(4)

D
6oz steak
1cup brocolli
1 cup lettuce
2 tbsp caesar dressing
(5)

Ratio: 66/4/30
Total: (13)

Talking HOT & HUMID

Well back to work for half days yesterday and today! They run the air at night (til 7 am)..then fans are on til noon.. then they shut everything down. It gets pretty warm around 10:30 -11 am...and then you sweat for the last hour until we can go home!

Thursday:
Breakfast
1 oz marble cheddar cheese (1)
decaf w/cream (1)
=2

Lunch:
salad w/ranch dressing (3.5)
tuna salad w/mayo (.5)
pecans (2.5)
=6.5

Snack:
decaf iced americano w/sf vanilla syrup & cream (2)
1/4 c. blueberries (4)
=6

Dinner (too hot to eat)
salad (3)
1/3 c sour cream dressing (3.2)
=6.2

Total: 20.7..not bad....

Friday:
Breakfast:
1 oz cheese (.6)
1 flaxmeal muffin (3.5)
decaf w/cream (2)
=6.1

Lunch:
6 oz grilled steak (0)
mushrooms/onion (1.5)
1/2 c green beans (2.8)
sf jello (.4)
=4.7

Dinner remains a challenge as we are going to the Ex (local fair/exhibition)...oldest son (17)has a band (he's the drummer) and they are playing there tonight. I am the official roadie...packing up the drums around 4:30 pm and heading out. I hate parking there and loading/unloading - last time my van got scratched! Very stressful!

Will probably end up eating dinner there.....and I am HOPING BEYOND HOPE...that there will be something I can eat there. Worse case scenario I guess are hot dogs/hamburgers w/no bun? Maybe I will slip plastic utensils into my purse, just in case? Taking youngest with me (5)..he loves the rides!
