Evening folks

Happy Birthday Brad!

Not much happening around here, our power stayed on, and thankfully we have a/c in the house.

Gave dd a hair cut today. She wanted it REALLY short she said, and I was very leary about cutting it that short, but it looks so cute on her now that its done.

Had a late supper of salad with left over chicken breast tossed in. I havent a clue what else to eat right now. Everything has to be cooked and I dread turning on any heating appliance.

I picked up some ground turkey tonight, Im going to try it out tomorrow for supper on the grill. Hopefully it will be a good alternative to burger.

I finally managed to talk hubby into trying this with me. He is agreeing to giving up his MEGA bowl of popcorn every night, and no more sweets. We agreed on 1 free day a week, and if he wants his popcorn then, fine. But just once every 7 days. Here is where Im stuck. What do I give him for breakfast? He hates eggs unless they are fried in bacon grease, and since he had a 4pl bypass 6 yrs ago, Im not inclined to make that for him. He eats Special K for breaky every morning. How do I get him to try something else. Suggestions would be wonderful. Nothing with eggs in them, he really doesnt like them. He isnt too keen on veggies either, but he's alot better than he used to be.

Thats about it for my small corner of the world.......Im off to watch my movie

Robin, do you think he'd like eggs made into some kind of breakfast muffin? They have some kind of bacon in them too, but more like bacon and not all the grease. I will look for some recipes if you think he'd try them. If you aren't feeling too good about the eggs either, you can probably half them with egg beaters. How low carb are you trying to get him? If he did low glycemic, he could eat some cereal like Uncle Sam, or some long cooking oatmeal.

Glad you all have power back! I bet that was really scary for a while, especially to the NY'ers. Was there a terrorism panic, or did word spread pretty fast?

Okay, we had the cheesecake. We used a blueberry cheesecake recipe from the link given to me. Basic cheesecake (cream cheese, eggs, splenda, etc.), w/whole blueberrys, and a blueberry/splenda topping. Pecan and splenda crust.

It turned out GREAT. I think I'd prefer it more without the blueberries though, but I had a hard time telling it apart from a normal cheesecake.
