LC - Success Stories - and not just the ones measured on the scale!

  • Just wondering about other people and their Low Carb success stories. I have only been doing this WOE for 25 days (with one weekend off due to over-doing it on the martinis) and I feel like such a changed person, even tho I've only lost about 10 pounds (not that I'm complaining!). I have also lost my near-chronic heart burn and indigestion and my face - wow, my skin is GLOWING!

My husband has lost more weight than I have, his stomach issues have just disappeared. And his skin is glowing as well.

We both notice that we have more energy and sleep better. My 2 pm omigoshI'mgoingtodieifIdon'thaveanap slump is GONE!

So, besides the obvious inches and pounds you've LOST, what have you GAINED on Low Carb? How long have you been doing it? And do you see this is a long term lifestyle for yourself (I do).

Hearing about someone else's success always motivates me so please share!
  • what have I gained?

What popped into my head when you said "other than inches and pounds" would be pride. Im proud of myself and how I look. Im proud of how hubby looks at me. Im thrilled to tears when he gets that "proud" look on him when someone notices how much weight Ive lost.

Im proud of what Ive accomplished so far. Im still 40lbs away from my goal.............but Ive come a long way.

How long have I been doing this? For about 3 yrs.

Long term or lifestyle? Yes, Im an addict, and this is the only way to keep my weight and my "crazy sugar cravings" under control.

  • Oh my goodness, Robin, that's exactly what I wanted to hear - you're doing an AMAZING job! It's so encouraging to read your success story and thank you for posting it!
  • Nicole (or is it Brandy? I thought I saw that somewhere) when I am on low carb, I don't have nearly as much anxiety. I feel healthier, I feel like I can breath better, and I am rarely sick to my stomach. When I go back to carbs, all those problems come rushing back!
  • I don't feel the need to chew the walls anymore. I still crave chocolate but I'm able to control it better (for now).

I feel more energy (not ALOT but some). I do sleep good.

I FEEL LIKE I HAVE A CHANCE !! of getting my life back.

And I haven't felt that way in over 5 years

I feel good nah nah nah nah nah nah nah!
  • Jennifer - it's Brandy (NIcole being the middle name) - you're good! You don't miss a thing - the sick to the stomach thing really strikes a chord with me. Before I cut the carbs, I was forever in some kind of stomach issues. Now they've solved themselves.

Leens, I really relate to feeling like "I have a chance" - I think before LC I was pretty hopless - any other weight loss system or program or whatever just made me wonder, "How long can I possibly keep this up???"

Thanks so much - it's so encouraging to hear how other people are doing and knowing that you guys are having some of the same side effects lets me know they're not just in my mind - they're REAL!

Much continued success to us all!
  • Pride the lack of fear to try things again. the energy to race my kids and have fun with it. the life i have gained by doing things rather than sittin on the side lines. I have gained LIFE!!!

As well as all the above things.
