Sweet breath?
Hi everyone. I'm 10 days into induction (the longest I've made it so far) and just started noticing something the other night. I have a sort of "sweet' taste in my mouth. It's most pronounced in the evenings but I did notice it this morning.
Is it part of the Ketosis process? |
Yup! That's it. There may also be a slight whiff of acetone in your breath but don't try to use it to remove nailpolish!

Try to drink a lot more water during the day and it should remove it. Most of it refer to it as "dragon breath" since we don't have a sweet taste but literally a foul pasty taste in our moths. Unsweetened breath mint or mouth wash should help....

Dragon Breath? That's funny. I don't know about drinking more water. I'm already up to 16 glasses a day! I read somewhere (I believe it was the Atkins site) that not only do you need to consume eight 8 oz glasses a day, but you need an additional 8 oz for every 25 lbs you want to lose.
I swear, if you poke me with a pin I'll leak. LOL I can live with the taste in my mouth, it's just weird. I've never had it before. Does it eventually go away or does it stay as long as you're in Ketosis? |
I'm jealous - I never got a sweet taste, it always tasted like I had been sucking a penny (not that I HAVE, but it's exactly how I imagine it would taste if I did). We call it swamp mouth. But we're goofy that way ;)
